Interesting and full of historical information. - We really enjoyed the experience the visit to the Gaol provided. It was informative and very well laid out that you could go at your own pace. Ideal that it had parking so made the visit really easy, highly recommended.

Informational and... - Informational and somewhat disturbing to think of all that occurred in the Goal. The history is worth seeing it in person.

Worth your time! - This tour was so unique. Even with kids (we didn’t have ours but we could have), this is for all ages! Take more time to watch/listen/read in each cell if you want or just go into each cell for the uniqueness in each one. My husband and I loved this self-guided tour.

A must do - Really enjoyed our visit to the Gaol and we found the staff very friendly and engaging. The VR experience was very immersive and it felt like we literally went back into time through the Gaol, we learnt a lot of history in our short visit. Excellent must do visit, with free parking onsite.

It was ok - It was ok. The guided tour wasn't up to much. We met a guide in costume who was nice, but not in character which I was expecting. It was a very brief chat in the hall way before sending us on our way. We were told we would see them again along the way but never did. A note on costumes-far too clean, and the addition of walkie talkies will take you out of the experience. Perhaps take on a few trained actors, dirty them up and allow them to bring the tales and atmosphere to life. As the guide was trying to tell us where to go and what to do, someone in the same hall way was loudly shouting and laughing and telling staff where to go and what to do. It really ruined the atmosphere and the guide struggled to be heard over him. (I actually think he was staff too). The building itself is amazing, and the history is fascinating. Again, however with so much to take onboard, the addition of actors/guides in a cell perhaps would help tell its story. There are plenty of information boards, screens, models, and props in various conditions (some are vandalized, and could do with a touch up). There is even a room detailing some of the paranormal events surrounding the gaol which is fascinating, but again, I couldn't help thinking how much better it would be if there was someone there brining these ghostly tales to life for the visitors. All in all, the building is amazing, the staff are friendly, the restrooms spotless and the restaurant looked really nice. The menu looked good and the food was amazing.
