Naankuse Wildlife Sanctuary - The journey takes us to the renowned N/a’an ku se Wildlife Sanctuary, situated approximately 50 km east of Windhoek. This sanctuary is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of sick, injured, and orphaned animals, with the ultimate goal of reintroducing these often rare and endangered species back into their natural environments. Unfortunately, some animals cannot be released back into the wild due to their inability to survive independently. These animals find a permanent home at N/a’an ku se, where they can live comfortably.
Windhoek – Etosha National Park, Oshikoto Region – 500 km
Etosha National Park - Guests are picked up from their Windhoek accommodation at 07:00 and taken to Chameleon Safaris Headquarters for a brief pre-departure meeting. Traveling north from Windhoek, there is a short stop in the town of Otjiwarongo to gather any last-minute supplies before continuing to Etosha. A light lunch is enjoyed en route. Upon entering Etosha National Park, a game drive leads to the overnight stay at Okaukuejo Camp.
Etosha National Park–Taleni - Etosha Village – 70 km
Etosha Pan - The entire day is dedicated to exploring Etosha, with the aim to maximize the experience. The park gates open at sunrise, and the journey begins as the sun rises. Early mornings are typically fruitful for game viewing, offering a chance to see big cats returning from their hunts. The day is spent on a full-day game drive in Etosha National Park, exiting the park in the late afternoon to reach the evening’s accommodation.

Swakopmund - Desert Camp, near Sesriem – 350 km
Tropic of Capricorn Sign - Departing Swakopmund mid-morning, the route heads east into the desert, crossing the Namib gravel plains. These vast, flat areas are interspersed with large mountain inselbergs. Two mountain passes are traversed in the afternoon, starting with the impressive Kuiseb Pass. The road descends steeply into the canyon carved by the Kuiseb River, which flows to the ocean at Walvis Bay.
Desert Camp, Sossusvlei – Desert Camp – 120 km
Sesriem - The day begins with a pre-dawn start and an early breakfast to capture the sunrise over the dunes. The best time for photographing the dunes is at sunrise and sunset, when the towering sand dunes are bathed in glowing orange and apricot red hues on one side, with shadows on the other. The depth of field is remarkable at this time.
Sunday – Desert Camp – Windhoek – 320 km
Solitaire - On the final day, excitement continues with a visit to Solitaire. Here, an open vehicle tour offers a chance to explore a local conservation project focused on cheetahs. Solitaire is home to several cheetahs that cannot be released back into the wild. This excursion provides an opportunity to learn about cheetahs and local conservation efforts, as well as capture stunning photos of the world’s fastest land mammal. After the activity, guests can enjoy the famous apple pie that has made this homestead renowned.
