Great experience learning about an ancient way of life and meeting genuine indigenous people. - Very interesting engagement with genuine bushmen who were friendly and entertaining in showing us some of their wide knowledge about how they use plants and animals in their way of life. Done as part of a small ethical non-profit setup. Also met some of the wives and children of the group.

Entertaining way to lean about a 100,000 year old culture and way of life. - Genuine demonstrations of a durable, sustainable way to live with nature. Hunting, fire making, snagging birds, natural medicines. Shows how early native peoples adapted to the constraints and opportunities of Africa. The click-based language was well-translated by our guide. Memorable way to learn from mixing pride with humor into a wonderful tour.

What an honour it was to... - What an honour it was to spend this time with the San people. I learned so much about this ancient culture, and there was something both spiritually and philosophically stimulating in watching how they work in harmony with their natural environment. What's more, I felt proud that by joining a tour like this, I was doing my little part to help conserve their lineage. Thank you so much to Erastus for translating while being the warmest guide I could ask for. I have travelled far around Africa, and this was one of my all-time highlights.

Interesting but misleading! - A very special thank you to our guide and interpreter Erastus! We very much enjoyed interacting with him and the interpreting he provided with the San. We also appreciated him sharing his family story with us. At the time of our visit, the women were visiting with family elsewhere so our walk was with the men of the San group. Meeting and interacting with them was very special as was being shown some of their life skills around the bush and being able to ask questions about traditional roles and activities. However, in our view, the set up is slightly misleading at best and very much ethically problematic overall. The San are in effect employees in Nicole's business as the foreign owner of the property and charity (separate to the San walk). Whilst the overall experience did not take away from the beauty of interacting with the San, it did leave a bad taste for us and was reminiscent of the traveling circuses or human "curiosities" on display for tourists rather than a genuine experience. It would be helpful for the context to be made clear on Viator rather than selling this activity as an "authentic" walk.
