Beautiful lightshow! - We came here on Saturday evening to do the 'Wisley Glow' light trail through the gardens. When we arrived for the 5.30 slot there were spaces in the car park (and its huge!) but by the time we left at around 7, you could see that spaces were highly sought after, so it pays to get there a bit earlier.
There was a small queue to get in, to get tickets scanned, then we simply followed the trail!. We have done a few light trails in the area (Windsor was last year) but this has to be my favourite. So much care and attention to the light placement, and so many great photo opportunities. This was a really festive, lovely trail. There are a few places on the way around that offer refreshments, marshmallows, crepes, mulled wine etc, and a lovely musical light show on the pond by the house at the end.
Cost £70 for a family of four non RHS members so it isn't the cheapest, but it is well worth doing!

A dip in the green - A dip in evergreen England. Everywhere even in autumn you are surrounded by a bright green that envelops you and makes you breathe... a real charm. For me coming from Milan it was a really exciting experience. There were also autumn colors. Despite it being a rainy day I enjoyed the time in this immense garden

Do a guided tour - Really enjoyed my visit to Wisley. today. I wasn’t sure what it would be like in October but was surprised to find there was plenty of colour and interest in the gardens as well as in the autumnal trees. But the star of the show was Kate on our 10:45 guided tour. She pointed out fascinating plants I would not have noticed otherwise, such as the anchor plant, and had interesting snippets of knowledge, such as why ginkgo biloba is known as the tree of hope. She clearly loves Wisley and communicated that enthusiasm to our small group.

Great visit for beauty and education - I'd never had a tour of Wisley before and now realise what I have missed all this time. To go round with such a knowledgeable guide made a huge difference to our enjoyment and appreciation of the grounds. We were taken to the right places for seasonal beauty and it was an education to be able to learn from experienced gardeners. My favourite was the International Food Garden - we had seen it in the Spring and it was fascinating to see how it had grown by the Autumn with so many beautiful vegetables and fruits. I came away with lots of good ideas and tips for my own garden, thank you.

Good facilities for disabled - Firstly to give 6 stars for their accessibility to disabled people.
Lots of parking places near the entrance; clearly marked wheelchair accessible routes, which were flat and very smooth surface.
Many disabled toilets, one with a hoist and a ‘ changing places’ facility for the more severely disabled.
One or two carers get in free as well .
The place itself is immaculately kept, almost to the point of feeling a bit unnatural/ lacking in some kind of character ( unlike Kew Gardens for example)
As many other posters have said there is an element of price gouging in the food and drink areas, and the gift shop, similar to other large popular captive destinations.
Then again the large majority of the customers/visitors are primarily the prosperous citizens of the middle class South East, so they can probably afford it.
I guess it gets really busy in the Summer, looking at the acres of car parking spaces.

New junction off M25 blights RHS Wisley Flower Show! - We visited Wisley Flower Show and parked in carpark4 . It was quite a long walk to the show especially when you actually get to the stalls. The flower displays were good and there were plants to buy but somehow it lacked its usual vibrancy and excitement. We stopped for lunch in the Terrace .The food was very good and the staff in there are charming as well as excellent.
My feeling was that there were fewer growers there and it was less well attended.
The walk back to carpark 4 was exhausting and there was transport to and from but long queues.
I think that people should be allowed to park nearer and be allowed to look for spaces.
There is a real problem with traffic off the M25 and A3 . The road building authorities have done a lot of damage by rerouting the Wisley entrance especially from the Guildford direction. That is why the show was not a buzzy as usual and l feel really sorry for the RHS !

Abysmal chalet food - Went for early evening entry to Wisley Glow. The 'glow was ok but nothing special. Probably aimed at children not adults! The chalet food was dire. Greasy and fatty offerings only. Thankfully the cafe at the entrance was serving baked potatoes otherwise we would have left hungry. Pizza was available at the Greenhouse cafe but that would have meant going round the trail again.
It impossible in this day and à ge to serve healthy food from a few chalets?

Cafe need looking at for there cake and snack selection - Been a member for a year now, lovely walk round the gardens really beautiful but if you want a cup of coffee and an nic cake, you’re out of luck. Queues are horrendous. And the selection of cakes is non-existent walked right up the top to the pine Stonehouse only to find the café is closed.

Visitor Services. - We have been members of RHS Wisley for many years and due to visit Wisley Glow in the next few days. This morning I realised I had made a mistake on the online booking submitted two months ago for the event. I ‘phoned Wisley this morning to discuss my mistake. The person I spoke to was a rather grumpy lady called Liz, seems she is a very important Senior Visitor Services Assistant. After a rather curt exchange from Liz she agreed to add one other adult to our booking at a price of £12.25. Payment to be made on the day Liz said to which I agreed and I repeated just £12.25 before we hung up. On the following email confirmation there was a £3 admin charge which Liz failed to mention. I replied to the email saying I agreed to the £12.25 but queried the admin charge. Liz replied saying that was for changing the ticket! Seriously, a click of the wrist to add one more ticket and that incurs £3! If Liz had been more customer focussed during our conversation I would have overlooked the £3 charge as that may well be in their T&C’s. As many reviews on here comment how grumpy the staff are in the restaurant and other garden areas, I am afraid I have to concur with them. RHS Wisley might benefit from running a personal development course or the like!

Some signage and proper information would be helpful. - Sincerely regret trying to visit RHS Wisley
After driving for a few hours to RHS Wisley, our first visit, we discover the exit off the A3 shut and there after the most woeful diversion signage to RHS Wisley which simply vanished soon after pulling off the A3. We found ourselves diverted back onto the A3 North bound and still not able to exit for Wisley. We had checked the RHS website only a couple of days ago but there was nothing to suggest the chaos we were about to head into. Clearly it was too much effort to consider directing traffic to this destination!
What a complete waste of our time. We won't be returning.
