Great fishing experience - It was a great experience. Staff knowledgeable on the species within the farm. The first pond we fished was very quiet and did not hook up once. The second pond we fished went off. Just about every cast we hooked up on nice 70cm Barra. It was a great time.

No experience required - There was no rush. We exceeded the prescribed 1-hour session and were allowe to just "take our time". Having zero experience with a fishing rod, i just had to tell the crew so, and was shown how easy it was. Having had a few bites and misses, our Guide hooked one and let me reel it in (hah! listen to me using fishing terms😆) Long story short, these guys do their utmost to ensure EVERYONE in their care feels looked after. We'll be back!!!!

Amazing experience!! - Had the most amazing day!!! Amos, Charlie, Bailey and Alex are the best fishing crew. We started off with lunch and you’ll never taste a better Barra and chips; it was cooked to perfection and one of the best meals in FNQ. The fishing experience was amazing and the guys have all the patients and are your biggest cheerleaders just wanting everyone to catch a Barra and have a great day. We highly recommend checking out Hook A Barra you will not be disappointed.

Do it! - We had a wonderful time trying to catch a trophy fish and then actually catching several active teenagers. They put up a real good fight. Steve kept our lives in the water and it's a great photographer too!

Barramundi Fishing - We came here for lunch and then some fishing. I had a Barra burger and it was actually really good. I quite enjoyed it. As someone who had never fished I had no idea what I was doing. The staff gave some instructions but I still struggled for quite a while before getting the hang of it. I felt like they knew how to fish themselves but had no idea how to teach a newbie. It felt more designed for people who had fished a few times before. Despite the ponds having lots of fish in then they weren't really biting. I managed to get one on the line but it escaped over an hour of casting. My wife managed to catch one and some of the other guests caught one so it was possible. Maybe just a skill issue but there was also a lot of just nothing happening. A lot of patience is needed which is hard when you only have an hour to catch something Eventually one of the staff hooked one and then passed me the rod and I reeled them in. They were much better at explaining what I needed to do. I got a photo with my fish and then he went back in the pond. Overall it was a fun afternoon and I learnt a lot about Barramundi. It did seem a bit expensive. $67 for hiring a fishing rod for an hour? I don't really know anything about fishing though to compare it with.
