Xiamen - In the morning, the tour guide and driver will collect you from your hotel around 08:00. The journey to Yongding County will take approximately 3 hours, where you will explore the famous Hongkeng Hakka Tulou Cluster, a recognized World Cultural Heritage Site.

Yongding Earth Building - During the drive, the guide will provide an overview of Hongkeng, a historic village in the Yongding District of Fujian. This peaceful village is home to over 30 Tulous, traditional Hakka earthen structures, mostly built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 - 1911). This Xiamen day tour to Yongding Tulou offers a unique opportunity to witness these rare cultural heritage sites.

Upon arrival, you will visit the Zhencheng Building, also known as the “Eight Diagrams Building,” renowned for its impressive exterior and intricate interior design. Next, explore the palace-like Kuiju Building, noted for its distinctive square architecture. The guide will then take you to the Rusheng Building, a small, compact round tower. The final stop on this Xiamen Tulou tour is the Fuyu Building.

Xiamen - After lunch, you will be escorted back to your hotel in Xiamen.

Xiamen - In the morning, the tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel around 09:00. You will be transferred to a ferry for a 10-minute boat ride to Gulangyu Island to begin this private Xiamen day tour.

Gulangyu Island - The first destination is Shuzhuang Garden, located in the island’s southern part. The garden, cleverly designed around the natural landscape, consists of two sections: the Garden of Hiding the Sea (Canghaiyuan) and the Garden of Making-Up Hills (Bushanyuan). You will then visit the Piano Museum, which showcases a vast collection of historic and modern pianos from Hu Youyi’s collection. Gulangyu Island is a popular tourist destination due to its pleasant climate and stunning views. From afar, it resembles a charming garden floating on the sea. As you leisurely explore the island, you’ll be captivated by the blend of Chinese and foreign architectural styles, vibrant flowers, lush trees, and the captivating coastline. Once a private garden, the villa-style Shuzhuang Garden features many beautiful structures, including pavilions and houses. The Piano Museum within Shuzhuang Garden offers visitors a glimpse into the history of this musical instrument.

Nanputuo Temple - After lunch, the Xiamen day trip continues to the South Putuo Temple, a renowned temple in China and home to the Buddhist College of Minnan. The South Putuo Temple, originally built during the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907), is a large and impressive Buddhist temple comprising four main buildings: Devajara Hall, Mahavira Hall, Dabei Hall, and the scripture library. Those interested in Buddhist culture will appreciate the sacred Buddhist statues and treasures within the temple.

Huli Mountain Fort - Following this, the guide will accompany you to the Hulishan Battery Scenic Spot, a military outpost built during the late Qing dynasty. Today, it features artillery from the Qing dynasties. If time allows, you can stroll along the Island Ring Road to enjoy the breathtaking seascape and man-made scenery.

Xiamen - At the end of the tour, you will be escorted back to your hotel in Xiamen or to the Xiamen airport/train station. This concludes the 2-day tour services.

Xiamen - Guilin by flight. Overnight in Ping’an village.

Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport - In the morning, the guide and driver will meet you at 6:00 am and drive you to Xiamen Gaoqi airport. You may take flight MF8635 from 08:05 to 09:50, which takes around 2 hours.

Guilin Liangjiang International Airport - Upon arrival in Guilin, you will be promptly picked up and transferred to the Longji Rice Terraces, a 2-hour drive covering 100 km.

Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces - After a two-hour drive, you will reach the entrance to the Longji Terraces, where you will purchase entrance tickets for the rice terraces in Ping’an Village. This village is renowned for having the most beautiful rice terraces in Longji and is about a 30-minute drive from the ticket office.

Ping’an Village - Upon arrival, you will embark on a moderate trek along steps to Ping’an Zhuang Village, taking about 40 minutes. The guide will lead you on a tour around the village, where you can observe the unique wooden stilted houses of the local Zhuang people and enjoy lunch in the village.

After a brief lunch break, continue exploring the terraces to the No.2 Viewing Platform (Seven Star with the Moon), a 15-minute walk, offering a fantastic bird’s-eye view of the Longji Terraces below. You will have ample time to take photos and enjoy the fresh air at the platform. Then, proceed to the No.1 Viewing Platform (Nine Dragons and Five Tigers), a 30-minute walk along a flat path. Afterwards, check into your hotel in Ping’an and enjoy some free time.

Longji - Sanjiang - Yangshuo. Overnight in Yangshuo.

Ping’an Village - Today, embark on a Dong Minority tour to the Dong Village in Sanjiang. Nestled at the foot of mountains and surrounded by rivers, Dong Village boasts well-preserved residential houses and a charming natural landscape.

Chengyang Bridge Scenic Resort - In the village, you will encounter the iconic structures of Dong Village, the Wind and Rain Bridge, and the Drum Tower. Built with wood and bricks, the Wind and Rain Bridge combines the styles of a bridge, corridor, and kiosk, showcasing the unique Dong style and the ingenuity of the Dong people. Originally constructed to provide shelter for field workers, the bridge later became a popular meeting place for young people and a renowned attraction for visitors worldwide. The Drum Tower, with its lofty pointed tower and upturned eaves, signifies your arrival in a Dong Village. Located at the village’s center, the Drum Tower serves as the political and cultural hub. When the village chief beats the drum on the top floor, villagers gather around the Drum Tower.

Yangshuo County - After lunch in Chengyang Village, enjoy a comfortable 3-hour car ride to your hotel in Yangshuo, where you can rest.

Yangshuo. Overnight in Yangshuo.

Yangshuo County - In the morning, the guide will meet you at 9 am to explore the Yangshuo countryside.

Yulong River - You will then cycle or ride an E-bike along the Yulong River to immerse yourself in the local idyllic landscape for 2-3 hours. Along the way, you’ll encounter vast farmlands adorned with colorful wildflowers and log cabins, stretching from the base of rolling hills. Occasionally, you’ll see farmers using oxen to plow the fields, adding vitality to the rustic scenery.

Fuli Ancient Town - After lunch, drive for an hour to the Xingping Dock for a motorized raft journey on the Li River. En route, pass through Fuli Town, known for its traditional handicraft of painted fans. If interested, you can make a brief stop there.

Xingping - Upon reaching Xingping Dock, board the motorized raft. A ride on the Li River is a must-do on the Guilin Yangshuo day tour. Unlike ordinary ships, the raft, a traditional mode of transport seating four people, offers a broader view and is the best way to appreciate the picturesque natural scenery. During the one-hour raft ride, you’ll see famous spots, including the Yellow Cloth Shoal depicted on the CNY20 banknote and Murals Hill, where verdant plants form images of nine horses on a steep cliff.

Important Tips: Due to safety concerns, individuals over 70 and children under 1 meter tall are not permitted on the Li River boat raft.

Yangshuo County - After the boat tour, you can explore Xingping’s old street before being dropped off at your Yangshuo hotel. There is an optional night show in Yangshuo, ‘Impression Sanjie Liu,’ performed on and above the Li River against verdant hills. The dreamlike stage effects and original singing and dancing of national minorities have earned the performance a stellar reputation among visitors. The show starts at 20:00 and lasts 70 minutes, with ticket prices ranging from CNY 268 to CNY 368, depending on seating. If interested, the guide will reserve tickets and escort you to the site after dinner.

Yangshuo. Tour concludes.

Yangshuo County - In the morning, the guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel around 09:00 and escort you to the Yulong River to begin the Yangshuo Yulong bamboo boat tour.

Yulong River - A bamboo raft ride on the Yulong River (or Dragon River), a tributary of the Li River, offers a relaxing way to enjoy the scenic area south of Yangshuo. Here, you can admire the stunning scenery and rural life views on a non-motorized raft, traditionally steered by a gondolier over breakwaters past small mud-brick villages and farmlands. Once on the bamboo raft, sitting and enjoying the tranquil countryside and limestone mountains, the beauty of this experience unfolds before you. Even if you’ve cycled the area with hidden stretches approaching the river, the view from the river is distinct. The boat ride lasts 50 minutes, one way.

Xianggong Mountain - After the Yulong bamboo boat ride, you will be driven to see Yangshuo’s Xianggong Hill. A 15-minute climb along a moderately sloped staircase leads to the top of Xianggong Hill. Please inform the guide in advance if a walking stick is needed. Situated between the famous Yellow Cloth Shoal and Mural Hill, Xianggong Hill is one of the best viewing platforms in Guilin to admire the Li River’s charm. The breathtaking view of the meandering Li River making a 180-degree bend attracts countless visitors and photographers each year.

Guilin Liangjiang International Airport - After lunch in Yangshuo, you will be transferred to the Guilin airport/train station or back to your Yangshuo hotel. This marks the end of your 6-day Xiamen to Guilin tour services.
