Fun and delicious ! - I had a fantastic time with Michael. We had a lot of fun - wandered through a local market and bought fresh ingredients which we used for our cooking. The kitchen was a short walk from the market. Making the noodles was a lot of fun and we got to slurp our way through them afterwards for lunch. Would highly recommend this activity!!

Self Made Chinese Noodles - An exceptional experience - Do you want to create your own chinese noodles? Then Michael will show you how to make it. At first you will have a tour through a traditional chinese food market and learn everything about Chinese fruits and spices. Then it is on you to create with your hands the noodles for the meal. Meanwhile you experience cold Chinese dishes waiting to be dicovered. Finally you can enjoy the Self cooked masterpieces. We had a Great time together with Michael and learned a lot more about China.

An unforgettable Biáng Biáng noodles experience in Xi’an! - We had an absolutely fantastic experience cooking Biáng Biáng noodles with Michael, and we couldn’t recommend it more. From the very beginning, Michael made the experience special by taking us to a local market, where we explored ingredients, tasted different spices, and discovered vegetables we had never seen before. He explained everything in a clear, engaging way, answering all our questions and helping us understand not only what we were buying, but why those ingredients matter in local cuisine. It felt like pure curiosity-driven exploration, guided by someone who truly knows and loves the culture. The cooking class itself was incredibly fun and hands-on. Michael created a relaxed, joyful atmosphere, making the process of learning Biáng Biáng noodles both accessible and memorable. We had a lot of fun, learned a ton, and by the end, we genuinely felt confident that we could recreate the dish at home. More than just a cooking class, this was a deep and valuable immersion into local life and food culture in Xi’an. If you’re looking to learn how to cook a traditional dish and connect with the culture in a meaningful way, this experience is a must. Highly, highly recommended!

Highly recommended - Michael was incredibly helpful and kind throughout the experience. The cooking studio experience started with shopping at the local market, which made it a really nice way to explore the area as well. Everything was well organized and fun, and I truly enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you so much!

Great experience for noodle lovers - We had a great time during this experience. Michael led us through the market and introduced us into Xi’an’s food culture. Making the noodles and cooking while talking about the food was a great experience, too. If you have some spare time in Xi’an and want to learn how to make noodles at home for when you are back from your trip, we would absolutely recommend this experience.

A great cooking experience. Our 11 year old loved it! - This was a brilliant cooking experience! Our 11 year old said it was one of the highlights of his trip. Our tour guide and translator Fiona was fantastic. We were collected from our meeting point on time and she and took us through the market where we tried some local foods and were shown local delicacies and ingredients we will be cooking with. Our chef was a wonderful, kind and a patient teacher. We made our noodles and chopped the ingredients and then cooked and ate what we had made. The trip took 4 hours in total and is in a great central location. I cannot recommend this experience enough!

Attention all cooks - I love to cook and I love to cook Asian, so I could not pass up the opportunity to take this class. We met Fiona (who was wonderful and speaks very good English) at the meeting place as described, did a brief tour of the market and got to camp sample different spices and chilis of varying heat and flavors. We walked a very short distance to the clean and modern cooking studio where we met the chef instructor and her assistant. We ate three local specialty cold appetizers (which we never would have had the opportunity to taste otherwise. Also some very good local produce. We made our own dough, chopped our veggies with a sharp Chinese knife, cooked in the wok at the stove. Then we pulled our own noodles. And of course we ate them. Memorable experience and highly recommended We did the private version so it was just two of us with the chef and her assistant.
