- Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayanta) - This is one of the few remaining structures from the Tang Dynasty in Xi’an. The pagoda’s construction is linked to a monk known as Tang Seng (Tang Monk). Over 1300 years ago, he journeyed solo to India, the origin of Buddhism, to study its teachings and brought them back to Xi’an, China. He also devoted himself to translating Sanskrit Buddhist scriptures into Chinese, enabling more people to learn about Buddhism. In front of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is Xi’an’s renowned tourist spot, the Tang Paradise, which hosts a regular musical fountain show.
- Museum of the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shihuang Ticket Office - This is one of China’s most valuable tourist sites, featuring the Terracotta Army, often called the eighth wonder of the world. The terracotta warriors are life-sized and were crafted to accompany Qin Shi Huang, China’s first emperor (the unifier of China), and are believed to protect him in the afterlife.
- Xi’an City Wall (Chengqiang) - This is the largest and best-preserved city wall in China. Visitors can enjoy cycling on the wall by renting a bicycle or visit Yongxingfang to taste the local delicacies of Shaanxi Province. It’s a local food market that is highly recommended for a visit and tasting. Even locals frequent this place.
- Muslim Quarter - This area, where Hui Muslims gather, has evolved into a modern food street. It also includes the Great Mosque, constructed during the Tang Dynasty, with an architectural style distinct from other mosques.
- Yongxing Fang - This is the site of the new local food market, where visitors can sample all the local specialties and foods from Shaanxi Province, as well as enjoy some entertainment. It’s located near the East Gate of Xi’an City Wall.
