Unique, fun, and delicious - This was such a unique and fun experience on our trip to China. Seeing the market area and spending time with local people was really special. Not to mention that Michael was a gregarious, skilled chef and great teacher. The food was delicious, and conversation was hilarious and insightful. I highly recommend this experience.

First class experience, incredible food, and great guidance! - We had an unbelievable time with Michael throughout the market tour and the cooking class. He was very thoughtful and thorough with both his explanations and how he answered our (many) questions. The cooking class portion was a highlight of our trip. Not only were the noodles a blast to make, but it was so special to see how the significant they are to Xi’an and we really felt connected to the experience. I would absolutely recommend doing this on any visit to Xi’an!!

Fun and personal cooking class - Great cooking class! Michael first took us to a local market and told us some things about daily life and the local food. We then went to someon's private appartement to cook the food. Michael was very friendly and gave us clear instructions on how to prepare the food and noodles. We had a lot of fun and would recommend this cooking class!

An Experience you should not skip!! - Anyone interested in cooking and looking to up their noodle game MUST book this class. The host is incredibly fun, inviting, and kind. I would happily do another experience with her in the future. We started our day with a tour of the marketplace, where so many vegetables, meats, spices, and grains were waiting to be explored and purchased. I was also able to enjoy a variety of seasonal bites as we were walking the market and shopping for what we needed. The host had a very clear and easy going style of communication, which made the experience fun, informative, and approachable. I loved learning about Xi'An, the noodles, a bit of history, chinese caligraphy, and the day to day culture of the people here. This was a unique experience with a local who cares about what she does. A true highlight of my time in Xi'An!

Amazing cooking experience! - This was as much a cultural experience as a cooking class. Bruce first took us through the local market to purchase fresh supplies for our cooking adventure, while introducing us to some uniquely Chinese delights. Bruce and Lily then welcomed us into their home with exceptional hospitality. My son and I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the hands on preparation of our multi course Biang Biang noodle feast that we then shared with this delightful family. We will remember them all fondly each time we prepare this delicious meal back in the US.

Incredible! - Really, really, beautiful experience! We were in three (my wife, my 10 years old daughter and me) and Bruce brought us to a spice market close to their house to buy the vegetables, the meat, etc... Then we went to their house: they offered us fruits, cakes and tea. Then we started to cook with Lily: we did the dough, we cut the vegetables, we cooked them and then we prepared the "biang biang" with our dough and with the Lily's dough. Then we cooked this noodles and we ate with their family: we had the noodles that we did and some other cold dished prepared by Lily. Really, really suggested and really, really beautiful experience and atmosphere.

Such a great day! - We had the best time learning to make biang biang noodles with Bruce and Lily! The market visit was also a really interesting insight into the average Xi’an locals shopping experience. Bruce was so knowledgeable and we had so many interesting chats with him. They also very kindly adapted the class to be vegetarian for us. We had such a lovely day and of course the noodles were delicious! Highly recommend!!
