The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses - As a former capital of China, Xi’an served as the seat of the Chinese Emperor for over 10 dynasties spanning 1,000 years. During this half-day, 4-5-hour private tour, you will explore one of Xi’an’s most remarkable attractions: the thousands of life-sized terracotta warriors housed in the impressive mausoleum museum.
Visiting the Terracotta Warriors and Horses is a highlight of any Xi’an tour, offering the opportunity to view over 8,000 life-size model soldiers from the Qin Dynasty era. Discovered in 1974, these warriors are situated east of Emperor Qin Shihuang’s Tomb, where the first unifier of China is interred.
Among the three pits, Pit No. 1 is the largest, containing over 6,000 clay warriors and horses arranged in 11 three-meter deep corridors. Since their discovery, these warriors have fascinated the world, traveling to countries such as England, America, and Chile.
Now back in China, the warriors and horses are displayed in an oblong battle formation of the Qin Dynasty. Facing east, they appear robust and resolute, with diverse facial expressions that reflect Emperor Qin Shihuang’s determination to conquer the other six states and unify the nation.
