Your driver will collect you from your hotel in Xining City and drive directly to Qinghai Lake. The journey to Qinghai Lake takes approximately 2.5 hours. Relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. Feel free to ask your driver to stop for photos if you wish.

It is highly recommended to start the tour around 7:00 am to have more time to explore Qinghai Lake when it is less crowded. Upon arrival at the main entrance of Qinghai Lake, your driver will assist you in purchasing your tickets (at your own expense) and inform you of the meeting point for your return. You will then have the opportunity to explore Qinghai Lake at your leisure. When you are ready, you will be safely returned to your hotel or place of accommodation.

In Mongolian, Qinghai Lake means “blue lake.” It is the largest inland and saline lake in China. The lake’s water source includes direct runoff, rainfall, and over 40 rivers, with the Buha River being the largest contributor. Qinghai Lake is surrounded by majestic mountains and features two sub-lakes: the saline Gahai Lake and the freshwater Erhai Lake. You will have ample time to explore the entire area on your own.
