Khor Virap - This site dates back to the late 3rd century when Saint Gregory the Illuminator faced persecution for promoting Christianity. His place of imprisonment was Khor Virap Monastery, a revered location offering stunning views of the biblical Mount Ararat. From here, Christianity spread across the region, eventually leading to the establishment of the Holy See of Echmiadzin, the spiritual hub of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Echmiadzin, the spiritual core of Armenia, invites you to delve into the origins of Christianity. Here, you will find the historic churches of St. Gayane and St. Hripsime, both recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These sacred sites honor the three virgins who courageously spread Christianity in the late 3rd century. Nearby is the Mother See of Echmiadzin, the spiritual center of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
