From this vantage point, one can enjoy a breathtaking view of Mount Ararat, arguably the most magnificent view of this Biblical mountain.
- Garni Temple - The subsequent stop is Garni Temple (77 A.D.), the sole surviving pagan temple in the entire post-Soviet region. The temple stands elegantly on a high plateau overlooking the Azat River gorge, surrounded by stunning natural beauty. The Greek-Roman bathhouse with its mosaic, composed of 30,000 pieces of natural stone, along with the remnants of the royal palace, transports visitors back to the 3rd century A.D.
A short 10-minute walk from the Garni Temple leads to a charming local restaurant offering a spectacular view of the temple, where visitors can unwind and participate in a master class on tasting freshly baked lavash, the traditional Armenian flatbread.
- Symphony of Stones - This magnificent natural monument is not only a “must-see” destination in Armenia but also a “must-have photos” location.
Please note*
Visitors can explore the “Symphony of Stones” until the first snowfall.
- The Monastery of Geghard - The Geghard Monastery complex is another historical site featured in this tour. St. Geghard represents the lance used by the Roman centurion to pierce Jesus after the crucifixion. This lance was later brought to Armenia and preserved in Geghard Monastery for five centuries. The complex showcases 13th-century Armenia, considered the Golden Age of the country’s architecture. The most remarkable aspect of this complex is its architectural design, with churches carved into solid rock, constructed according to Armenian architectural principles. Geghard Monastery is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
