• Charent’s Arch - While traveling through the village of Voghjaberd, the architect Rafael Israelyan frequently observed the breathtaking view of Mount Ararat from a nearby hill. In 1957, Israelyan completed his design, known as the Mount Ararat Temple. The final line of Yeghishe Charents’s poem is prominently engraved on the entrance: “Go to the world; there is no white peak like Ararat, like the path of unripe glory; I love my Masis mountain.” The site soon became popularly known as The Arch of Charents. The tour begins with the viewpoint of Mount Ararat, a symbol of Armenia.
• The Monastery of Geghard - Geghard Monastery, a medieval site in the Kotayk province, is partially carved into the surrounding mountain and encircled by cliffs. The name Geghard, or Geghardavank, meaning “the Monastery of the Spear,” is derived from the spear that pierced Jesus during the Crucifixion. It is believed that Apostle Jude, known here as Thaddeus, brought the spear to Armenia, where it was kept with other relics. It is now displayed in the Echmiadzin treasury. The monastery complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with enhanced protection status.
• Symphony of Stones - The next destination is the basalt organ, known as the Symphony of Stones. This natural marvel, featuring a collection of symmetrically cut stones, is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. The hexagonal stones, aligned across the canyon, resemble an organ, giving it its name.
• Garni Temple - Built in the first century, the Garni Temple has endured through the ages, telling the story of pre-Christian Armenia and its people. Dedicated to Mithra, the God of the Sun, it is the only surviving pagan temple in Armenia and the former USSR. The temple was destroyed by a severe earthquake in 1679 and was restored between 1968 and 1975.

Garni temple, one of the most famous historical and architectural monuments among tourists, is located in Kotayk province. It is the only structure preserved in Armenia from the pagan period, dedicated to the god Mihr.

Before reaching the temple, we will have a stop on the way to Charents Arch, from where a wonderful view of Mount Ararat opens.

Then we will visit Geghard Monastery (Ayrivank), where according to the legend, from the XIII century the spear with which Christ was pierced was kept here.
