The Wulingyuan Scenic Area is a harmonious blend of mountains, valleys, forests, caves, lakes, and waterfalls, with over 560 attractions. The uniquely shaped peaks, peculiar stones, hidden valleys, wonderful waters, and limestone caves form the ‘Five Wonders’ of Wulingyuan, making it a must-see.
Covering 690 square kilometers (266 square miles), Wulingyuan Scenic Area includes Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Suoxi Valley Nature Reserve, Tianzi Mountain Nature Reserve, and the newly added Yangjiajie Scenic Area.

Tianzi Mountain - After a 20-minute cable car ride, you’ll reach the top of Tianzi Mountain, then take a 5-minute shuttle bus to the central area, offering stunning views of peaks rising one after another. Known as ‘the Monarch of the Peak Forest,’ the mountain offers breathtaking views of the Wulingyuan Scenic Area. Each season brings unique beauty, with four wonders: the Sea of Clouds, the Radiance of the Moonlight, Rays of Sunshine, and Snow in winter.
BaiLong Elevator - After visiting Yuanjiajie (Avatar Mountain), a 15-minute shuttle ride will take you to the Bailong Elevator. This magnificent structure stands 335 meters (1,099 feet) tall, with a running height of 326 meters (1,069 feet). Of the total height, 154 meters (505 feet) are within the mountain wells, and the remaining 172 meters (564 feet) consist of steel derrick and other components. The elevator features three parallel sightseeing elevators, each accommodating 50 passengers at a speed of 3 m/s (accelerated to 5 m/s since 2013). When all three elevators operate simultaneously, they can transport 4,000 passengers per hour.
Golden Whip Brook - Golden Whip Stream (Jinbian Stream) is renowned for its pristine water, verdant mountains, steep cliffs, and serene valley. A true “paradise” for plants, its pathways are adorned with an abundance of flowers, trees, and grasses, and it is also a haven for animals. Named after Golden Whip Crag, its landmark spot, the stream runs from Laomo Bay to Shui Rao Si Men (water-surrounded gates). You’ll enjoy a one-hour hike along the Golden Whip Stream, then take a shuttle out of the park and return to the hotel.
Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge - After visiting the national park, you’ll head to the Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge area, but there won’t be time to visit the Grand Canyon. The Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, also known as the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon skywalk, is the world’s longest and highest glass bridge, suspended over the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. From a distance, it resembles a piece of white silk floating between the clouds and fog, earning it the name Yuntiandu, meaning “a way of clouds to the sky.” Standing on it, if you dare, you can enjoy a bird’s eye view of the Grand Canyon.

Huangshi Village - After visiting Tianmen Mountain, if you wish to explore further, you can visit Huangshi Village, located in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie. It is one of China’s top 5 highlight travel itineraries. Legend has it that during the Han Dynasty, Zhang Liang, a politician, left politics and began his travels. When he reached this area, he was blocked by officials, but his teacher, Huang Shi Gong, helped him escape. Since then, the place has been known as Huangshi Village.

Xiangxi Hibiscus Town - Today, you’ll drive to Fenghuang Old Town, a journey of approximately 3.5 hours covering 230 km. Along the way, you’ll stop at Furong Old Town.
Furong Ancient Town, or Hibiscus Ancient Town, is located in Yongshun County in the Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of western Hunan Province. Originally known as Wangcun Village, it gained fame as the filming location for the movie Hibiscus Town, leading to its name change to Furong Town (Furong means Hibiscus in Chinese phonetic alphabet). The town is home to a diverse mix of people, with Tujia and Miao ethnic groups mingling with Han people. Tujia people make up more than 80% of the population.
Phoenix Ancient Town - Upon reaching Fenghuang, you’ll check into the Fenghuang hotel, and the guide will show you around Fenghuang Old Town. Situated in Hunan Province, Fenghuang Ancient Town is one of China’s most famous old towns. Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces - At 9:00 am, the guide will meet you in your hotel lobby and take you from Fenghuang to Guangxi Longsheng to visit the Longji Rice Terraces.
The Longji Rice Terraces, also known as Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces, are named for their resemblance to a dragon’s scales, with the mountain range resembling a dragon’s backbone. They are considered one of the world’s most beautiful rice terraces.
Located in Longsheng County, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) from Guilin and 140 kilometers (90 miles) from Yangshuo, the construction of the Longji Rice Terraces began in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) and continued until the early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Today, the terraces cover an area of 66 square kilometers (about 16,308 acres) and span an altitude between 300 meters (about 984 feet) and 1,100 meters (about 3,608 feet). The two main viewing areas are the Ping’an Zhuang Village Terraced Fields and the Jinkeng Terraced Fields, where Zhuang and Yao Minority people have lived for centuries. In addition to admiring the rice terraces, visitors can learn about the unique customs of the Longsheng rice terraces scenic area.

The Reed Flute Cave, also known as “the Palace of Natural Arts,” is a landmark and tourist attraction in Guilin. This natural limestone cave, adorned with multicolored lighting, has been a fascinating attraction for over 1,200 years and is over 180 million years old.
Elephant Trunk Hill (Xiangbishan) - After visiting the cave, you’ll transfer to Guilin city center to visit Elephant Trunk Hill, a hill, landmark, and tourist attraction in Guilin, Guangxi. It is not only one of Guilin’s major tourist attractions, an international tourist city, but also the symbol of Guilin, featuring elephant trunk mountain and osmanthus flower as its city emblem.
Sun and Moon Pagodas - After visiting Elephant Park, the driver will take you to the Sun and Moon Pagodas area, where the guide can show you around the lakes or you can enjoy lunch at Zhengyang Street.

Yulong River - After visiting Xianggong Hill, you’ll transfer to the Yangshuo Yulong River for a bamboo boat ride.
The Yulong River, with its dramatic karst landscape, silky water, and ancient bridges, is an ideal spot for bamboo rafting. Known as ‘the Little Li River,’ it is a tributary of the Li River.
West Street - After the bamboo boat ride, you can enjoy lunch in the West Street area.
This is the oldest street in Yangshuo, with a history of over 1,400 years. Located in the center of Yangshuo County, the street has become a cultural hub since the 1980s, blending Eastern and Western cultures and serving as China’s largest ‘foreign language center.’ It is the most prosperous district in Yangshuo, attracting approximately 100,000 foreigners annually for travel or advanced studies. Visitors are drawn to West Street by its unique cultural mix.
Impression Sanjie Liu - At 6:40 pm, the guide will meet you in the West Street area and take you to the Impression Sanjie Liu Light Show. It’s recommended to have dinner before the show, as the driver will take you directly back to the hotel afterward. The guide will assist with booking show tickets.
Unlike other shows in enclosed spaces, the Impression of Liu Sanjie is staged on the actual Li River, stretching 2 km (1.25 miles). The mist, moonlight, and 12 Karst peaks, along with their reflections in the river, create a spectacular natural backdrop.
