Amazing York Tour - Had an amazing private tour with Alfred. His extensive knowledge and ability to tell a story made the tour so engaging. We are still talking about it a month later. Alfred organized a walk that allowed for even time for tea at Betty's and a rest. Highly recommend this tour to connect and learn your way around York.

‘Best part of the trip’ - children age 2 - 9. - A superb tour; Alfred captivated the children (age 2-9) and deftly wove their questions and knowledge into the narrative. A nice touch that he also extended the history to include our home city. Thank you - I’m sure we will book again.

A spectacular journey back in time! - Alfred is a very knowledgeable tour guide and extremely well-versed in the history of York. My husband and I felt like we were walking through history at every turn because of Alfred’s vivid narration and engaging conversation. We highly recommend this tour!

Highly recommended tour of York - Alfred was a gracious, knowledgeable, and engaging guide. His storytelling brilliantly weaved together the story of York - this alone is a tall order given York's many-layered history. We saw many well-known sights (perfect for my in-laws' first visit to York), and some hidden gems. Alfred was also very kind to answer all of our questions with keen insights.
I highly recommend this tour with Alfred for your next visit to York, whether it's your first or 10th time to the city. Thank you, Alfred!

Alfred is our FAVORITE guide! - This is the best tour we have ever taken. Alfred was truly a delight and a gem. He is a wealth of information and history buff. Taking a private tour with him provided the opportunity to chat about so much history, linger at places, and have every question answered so thoughtfully. Next time we go to York we will be seeing him. He wrote a book, BTW!

Excellent Tour and well worth the price - Alfred was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. We know some Yorkshire history; he picked up on that and directed his comments and observations accordingly. We highly recommend.

I now know why york is a walled city - Alfred was a good guy. Super friendly and full of knowledge. Would definitely recommend this tour with Alfred!. Learned a lot of things that I didn’t know despite many school trips!

The perfect tour - Sarah was excellent, we covered the parts of the city that were most interesting. Although the tour didn’t include entry to the Minster, we had tickets for later in the day, she gave us a history of the different structures on the site which made our visit much better.
She has a great depth of knowledge about the city and shared it with relevance. We would highly recommend this tour.

Superb guided walk of York - Our 2hr walking tour was superb👏 Sara had so much historical knowledge and planned our route related to important information very well. It was just my husband and I which was great and we had time to ask lots of questions. By the time we’d finished we felt as though we’d not only achieved York’s story, but had achieved a new frind in Sara! Such a lovely friendly person. Both she and her husband Alfred communicated with us very well prior to our arrival in York. I would thoroughly recommend their guidance.
