The construction of Jusuf Mašković, a top-ranking official in a Turkish court and a native of Vrane or Pakoštane, was funded and initiated by the facility. The start of the Canadian war in 1644 marked the beginning of the construction, but it was never completed due to Jusuf Mašković’s demise in January 1646. This extravagant and imposing building was to serve as an inn and residential home for Mašković in his latter years.
