• House of Wonder - The House of Wonder, constructed in Stone Town, Zanzibar by Sultan Barghash bin Said, was the largest and tallest building in Stone Town during the 19th century. It holds a prominent position facing the Forodhani Gardens, situated between the Old Fort and the Palace Museum. This building served as a ceremonial palace and reception hall.

• The Old Fort (Ngome Kongwe) - Built by the Portuguese in the 16th century, the Old Fort is the oldest building in Stone Town. Known as the Arabic Fort, it now hosts various Zanzibar festivals and stands as a testament to Portuguese influence in the area.
• Freddie Mercury Museum - Born in Zanzibar Town on September 5, 1946, Freddie Mercury became a British singer and songwriter, achieving worldwide fame as the lead vocalist and pianist of the rock band Queen. He passed away on November 24, 1991.
• St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Cathedral - Construction of this church began in 1863 by French missionaries from the French Colony of Reunion. Work was halted upon discovering graves on the land but resumed 30 years later, with the first mass held on Christmas 1898.
• Jaws Corner - Jaws Corner is the heart of town, serving as a meeting place for locals and tourists to enjoy coffee and share jokes.
• Old Slave Market/Anglican Cathedral - Once a slave market, this site was closed in 1873 by Sultan Barghash. Edward Steere, the third Bishop of Zanzibar, built an Anglican Church here. He passed away in the building next door and was buried behind the altar.
• Darajani Bazaar - Designed by British architect J. H. Sinclair and inaugurated in August 1904, this is the largest of the central market structures. It features sections for fish, spices, meat, fruits, and vegetables.
• Old Dispensary - Commissioned in 1887 by Tharia Topan, the Old Dispensary was intended as a charitable hospital for the poor. After Topan’s death in 1891, his widow continued the work but had to stop in 1893 due to budget constraints. The building was completed in 1894 by a new owner.
• Malindi Mosque - Built in the 19th century, the Ijumaa Mosque (Friday Mosque) underwent a complete renovation in 1994 in a modern Arabesque style. Compared to other mosques in Zanzibar, it is relatively plain and unpretentious.
• Old Customs House - Constructed around 1865, this building was initially the home of Zam Zam, daughter of Seyyid Said, the first Sultan of Zanzibar, and her husband Sayyid Humud bin Ahmed. After bin Ahmed’s death, the customs authority moved in 1928, and the building served as the Customs House until 1987.
• People’s Palace Museum - Built in the 1830s by Seyyid Said bin Sultan for his family, this palace was bombarded during the Anglo-Zanzibar War in 1896, reducing it to half its original size. It continued as the Al Busaidy Palace until the 1964 Revolution, after which it was renamed the People’s Palace and used as government offices. It became the Palace Museum in 1994.
