Upon arrival in Arusha, a welcoming safari manager will greet you, providing a brief overview of your exciting 5-day journey. Shortly after, a professional safari guide will take you on a scenic two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park.

This park is renowned for its impressive elephant herds and ancient, towering baobab trees, the largest on the continent! From the open roof of your vehicle, explore the savanna and seasonal swamps. The Tarangire River is alive with activity, showcasing a variety of bird species, giraffes, impalas, zebras, lions, leopards, and majestic elephants.

Tarangire to Serengeti Adventure

Serengeti National Park - After a delicious breakfast, embark on a journey towards the Great Rift Valley, passing through the cooler region of Karatu. Soon, you will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, pausing for a breathtaking view into the famous crater from a high vantage point.

Continuing around the vast caldera, the road becomes bumpy, offering an exciting “African massage” as you pass traditional Maasai villages en route to the Serengeti.

At the Naabi Hill entrance gate, stretch your legs and enjoy panoramic views across the Serengeti savannah. The adventure then continues into the central Seronera Area. The park unfolds before you, offering a wealth of wildlife, including the thrill of spotting the Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard.

As evening falls, you will proceed to your accommodation for a delicious dinner and a peaceful overnight stay under the expansive African sky.

Full Day in the Endless Serengeti

Serengeti National Park - The magic begins before dawn! Rise early for a sunrise game drive, a special time to spot rare nocturnal animals and the first daily risers. Many animals line the roadsides to escape the morning dew, providing wonderful, close-up sightings.

After a hearty breakfast at your accommodation, dedicate the entire day to game drives within the magnificent Serengeti National Park.

The name Serengeti comes from the Maasai word ‘Siringiti’, meaning “plains without end,” and you will explore these vast, legendary stretches of African savannah. Beyond the famous wildebeest, the park offers an incredible array of wildlife. Look forward to spotting elephants, powerful lions, swift cheetahs, elusive leopards, zebras, elands, and a multitude of beautiful resident and migratory birds.

After an incredible day exploring this wild paradise, return to your accommodation in the evening for relaxation and dinner.

Last Serengeti Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast at your accommodation, check out and embark on one last thrilling game drive in the Serengeti. Explore the Seronera River Valley, known for its rich wildlife and birdlife, or venture to any location your professional safari guide recommends.

Later in the afternoon, bid farewell to the endless plains as you drive back toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Check in at a comfortable lodge ready for a delicious dinner and an overnight stay before tomorrow’s grand finale.

Ngorongoro Crater and Flight back to Zanzibar

Ngorongoro Crater - Your final safari morning starts with an early breakfast and then begins the steep drive down over 600 meters into “Africa’s Garden of Eden.”

Once on the floor, you will immediately see why this is the best wildlife area on Earth. The water and rich grass feed countless animals. Wildebeest and zebra herds roam, huge elephants move through the woods, and buffalo rest in the marshes. Hippos lounge in pools, and warthogs run about.

The crater is famous for its big cats. Lions rule here. Hyenas patrol, and you might spot cheetahs sprinting. Your expert guide will try to find the elusive leopard. A highlight is Lake Magadi. Here, thousands of pink flamingos create a spectacular sight.

In the afternoon, enjoy lunch and then drive up the crater wall. Take a final look at this natural wonder below. The journey then begins back to Arusha. At the airport, catch your flight back to Zanzibar, where a transfer team will take you back to your hotel.
