These include cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, ginger, turmeric, nutmeg, lemongrass, and coffee. We also see tropical fruit trees like mango, orange, and banana (Max 1 hour 30 minutes). Afterward, we take a short break with someone we call the butterfly man, who climbs a coconut tree for tourists while singing the ‘Hakuna Matata’ song and cuts young coconuts for tasting (30 minutes). Then, we enjoy a lunch of local cuisine such as pilau, cooked banana, spinach, fried chicken, sauce, and kachumbari (30 minutes). There’s also time to visit a spice shop to purchase spices if interested (30 minutes). Finally, we drive to Stone Town, which takes 35 minutes.
- Stone Town - Upon arriving in Stone Town, we embark on a two to three-hour walking tour of historical sites, shopping in souvenir boutiques, and making short stops at coffee shops if requested by clients. The tour duration can vary based on tourists’ preferences, sometimes taking an hour for each significant historical point. We start at the main market, known as Darajani Market, then visit the old slave memorial market (entrance fee included). We continue past the Zanzibar doors and architecture, the main center of Stone Town known as Jaws Corner or Soko Muhogo, the old Catholic church, Freddie Mercury’s house, the old fort (free entry), Forodhani Park, the House of Wonders, and finally the Palace Museum. Our driver will then pick up the guests and return them to the hotel.
