Guests can sample natural salt, view historical tools and exhibits, and shop for distinctive, high-quality salt products and souvenirs at the on-site store. It’s a wonderful blend of culture, nature, and tradition!
- Church of St. Nicholas - Situated on a small hill—a prehistoric earthen mound—between Zaton and Nin, the Church of St. Nicholas is the only remaining example of Romanesque architecture with a central ground plan and a cross-ribbed vault from the late 11th to early 12th century.
Perched on a hill, the church offers a charming setting, ideal for capturing beautiful photographs with panoramic views.
- Nin - Enjoy an hour of leisurely walking and free time in one of the Mediterranean’s oldest cities.
Nin is a quaint, picturesque town celebrated for its mild climate, rich history, natural beauty, and ancient traditions.
The historic part of the town is located on a small island in a shallow lagoon, connected to the mainland by two stone bridges. Life in Nin began over 3,000 years ago, making it one of the Mediterranean’s oldest towns.
At the town’s entrance stands a statue of Duke Branimir, marking the first time Croats received a papal blessing in 879. Just outside the town is the Church of St. Nicholas (from the 11th/12th century), where, according to legend, seven kings were crowned.
In the heart of Nin is the Church of the Holy Cross (from the 9th century), often referred to as the world’s smallest cathedral. It was constructed as a calendar and sun clock and now serves as a symbol of the Zadar region.
- Konoba Kraljevski Vinogradi - As part of the tour, guests will sample two varieties of wine and enjoy the serene ambiance of the vineyard under the night sky.
Located above Petrčane and Punta Skala, the vineyards of Kraljevski Vinogradi flourish on rocky, sun-drenched slopes with constant sea and mountain breezes. These conditions—stony soil, abundant sunshine, and a unique microclimate—yield exceptional grapes and wines.
The vineyard spans 1 km, ascending from 8 to 43 meters above sea level with a 30° incline that ensures consistent airflow and breathtaking views of Zadar and the Velebit mountains.
Established in 1066 when King Petar Krešimir IV granted the land to the Benedictine Monastery, the vineyards were maintained by nuns until agrarian reform. Returned in 2009, the land was revitalized in 2011 with 23 hectares replanted.
Despite modest yields, the vines thrive, producing fresh, mineral-rich, and fruity wines.
