Tahoe Cruise October 11, 2025. - Buffet style. Bring a jacket in October. Don’t sit at a table near the door where you board, if it’s cold outside. The lake is absolutely black at night. Get dessert with dinner. Lastly, get the eclairs as soon as you can, they are not restocked.

Dinner on Lake Tahoe. - Very scenic? Great way to see the lake. The food was great. The salmon and rib-eye taste great and were cooked to perfection. The band provided a great show after dinner. Enjoyed the evening. Tip take the bus they provide to the boat. The driver was great.

Great experience - Dinner was amazing! Great food and dessert. The music and vibe was perfect for a little date night. Only thing I’d change is the tour should start earlier because most of the tour it’s dark and you don’t see anything.

Fun for first Tahoe Visit - Food is decent and plentiful. Not the best buffet ever but good enough. Would recommend that in the winter, they start the cruise at 5pm instead of 6pm. The “sunset” part of the cruise was when we were all getting in line for food - missed a lot of viewing sunset time. After dinner, there was a two man band performing on second floor dance room. Drummer was good but keyboardist and lead singer was drunk - kept messing up and forgetting words. Didn’t keep the drunk patrons from dancing but us sober ones were just laughing at the train wreck of it all. In spite of all that, the servers were great and we had a good time. Go for your first time visit - night stars are beautiful and it was an interesting experience overall.

Would have been more enjoyable during the day… - We took the dinner cruise which was very dark. Unfortunately we were not able to see any of the sights. I was especially looking forward to Emerald’s Bay. If you’re wanting to not just experience dinner on the lake, but would actually like to take photos and take in the scenery, my suggestion is to do this during the daytime. I’m sure it magnificent!

On October 4th, 2025, at... - On October 4th, 2025, at approximately 4:35 p.m., my fiancé and I were waiting for the shuttle in front of 3 Peaks that takes guests to the dinner boat ride in Lake Tahoe. Because I have Chronic Kidney Disease and cannot stand for long periods without discomfort, I chose to wait in our parked vehicle directly in front of the shuttle stop. When the shuttle arrived, my fiancé got out first, and the driver honked and waved at him. As soon as my fiancé helped me out of the car, the driver honked again and began waving his hands impatiently, as if to say “come on.” We were no more than 12 feet away from the shuttle, and despite my condition, I walked as quickly as I could. From the time the driver arrived to when we boarded, no more than 17 seconds had passed. The repeated honking after we had already acknowledged the driver was unnecessary and embarrassing, especially given my visible difficulty walking. It made me anxious and created the impression that we were somehow holding up others, which was not the case. Once on board, my fiancé calmly told the driver, “Please don’t honk at us, you owe us an apology — we were walking as fast as we could.” The driver coldly responded, “I don’t owe you anything; I’m on a tight schedule.” Before my fiancé could even sit down, the driver abruptly pulled off, causing him to lose his balance momentarily. For the remainder of the trip, we observed the driver stop for other passengers — families, couples, and groups — and treat them politely without honking or impatience. We were the only Black couple on the bus, and it appeared that everyone else received respectful treatment while we did not. Combined with my disability, this experience was both humiliating and disheartening. .

Disappointing - The dinner cruise started off very nice with a very good buffet dinner, though it was served before the cruise actually started. The Dixie II is a very nice boat and handled the wind and 1-2 foot swells very well and made for a smooth ride. As nice as the cruise started out it did not meet our expectations as it soon got very dark, which was in part because of cloud cover. By the time the boat reached Emerald Bay, it was too dark to see anything unless the spotlight was used, which did help illuminate the bay, the island and the Viking Castle. Very hard to take any pictures. We wondered why the boat’s departure is not changed at this time of year to an earlier time, such as 5 pm. It would have made a world of difference in the experience. In addition to that disappointment, the evening entertainment, a two person band, was not very good. The lead singer was actually drunk, or it seemed so as you could barely understand the words he was singing. We actually needed to sit in the dining area the entire ride as the music was also too loud. I would not recommend this cruise at this time of year.

The staff was friendly... - The staff was friendly but the steak was cooked to rare and the chicken was dry. The sunset was 10 mins after we left the dock as we were eating and when we got to the bay it was dark so you couldn’t see anything. They should adjust the times of the cruise.
