- Zgorigrad - Discover the highlights of Vratsa Karst Nature Park in just one day. Begin with an early transfer to Zgorigrad village, passing the rock formation Vratsata, and proceed to the start of the stunning and exhilarating Borov Kamak waterfall eco-trail, which stands 50 meters tall. Ascend using wooden ladders and steps through a pristine valley filled with small waterfalls and cascades, enjoy a picnic lunch at the summit, and descend along a pleasant beech forest path offering spectacular panoramic views of Zgorigrad village and the Vratsa Mountains. On the way to the waterfall, cross the river on wooden bridges just above the rapids, climb steep rocky sections on sturdy wooden ladders, and take in the magnificent views of Borov Kamak waterfall from both below and above.
- Ledenika Cave - Following the hike, you will be transported to the intriguing Ledenika Cave, where nature has crafted a captivating underground masterpiece. The cave stretches 320 meters, and its name is derived from the icy stalagmites that form at the entrance during winter and early spring. With its breathtaking cave formations, Ledenika is one of Bulgaria’s most beautiful show caves and is home to the endemic beetle Fagomycetes ledenicus, also known as “the light hater.”
This hiking trail is particularly recommended for spring, the ideal time to appreciate the waterfall’s rushing waters and the icy formations within Ledenika Cave.
