Guangzhou - Start your day early at 4:00 a.m.! Your private driver in Guangzhou will pick you up from your hotel, ensuring a smooth and comfortable transfer to the airport for your morning flight. After a seamless two-hour flight, you’ll arrive in the captivating city of Zhangjiajie. Upon arrival, a local guide will warmly welcome you at the airport, marking the beginning of your adventure.
BaiLong Elevator - Begin your journey at Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. A bus or drive will take you to the park entrance, approximately a 40-minute trip from the city center. Inside, head to the Yuanjiajie area via the Bailong Elevator, a remarkable feat as the world’s fastest elevator. Standing at a vertical height of 326 meters, it swiftly elevates you up the cliff in just 1 minute and 58 seconds. As you ascend, the view unfolds spectacularly. Initially, the elevator travels within a shaft, but soon the doors open to reveal a breathtaking panorama. Towering sandstone pillars, resembling nature’s skyscrapers, surround you, seemingly defying gravity. These unique karst formations, shaped over millions of years by erosion, create a sight that is both otherworldly and awe-inspiring.
Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area of Zhangjiajie - Yuanjiajie, the inspiration for Avatar’s floating mountains, is a wonderland of natural beauty. Here, the towering sandstone pillars appear to be plucked from a fantasy world. The Hallelujah Mountain, also known as the South Pillar of Heaven, stands as a majestic symbol of this place. Its impressive height and unique shape make it the focal point of the area, and it’s easy to see why it inspired the floating mountains in the movie Avatar. Another highlight is the First Natural Bridge in the World. This natural wonder is a thick slab of rock that spans across two cliffs, creating a bridge high above the valley below. As you walk across it, you can’t help but marvel at the power of nature that crafted such a delicate yet sturdy structure.
Tianzi Mountain - After exploring Yuanjiajie, continue your adventure to Tianzi Mountain. During the ride on the Tianzi Mountain Cableway for a panoramic view above the forest canopy, your guide will identify the different formations and share ancient folk stories related to the mountains. As you glide through the air, taking in the sight of thousands of sandstone pillars stretching as far as the eye can see, their shapes and sizes varying in a mesmerizing display of nature’s artistry, your guide’s commentary will deepen your appreciation of this natural wonder.
Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge - Next, we’ll head to the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, about a 1-hour drive from Yuanjiajie. The bridge is an engineering marvel and a thrilling experience. Suspended 300 meters above the Grand Canyon and stretching for 430 meters, it holds the title of the world’s longest glass bridge. As you step onto the transparent glass floor, an adrenaline rush courses through your veins. The bridge offers an unobstructed view of the canyon below, with its lush greenery, winding streams, and the occasional glint of sunlight on the rocks. Along the way, there are viewing platforms where you can pause, take in the vastness of the canyon, and truly appreciate the beauty of this natural wonder. The combination of the height, the glass under your feet, and the stunning scenery makes this a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park - At the end of this exhilarating day, your guide will accompany you back to your hotel, helping you reflect on the day’s highlights and preparing you for the next day’s adventures.
Conquer the Spectacular Tianmen Mountain - Back to Guangzhou
Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park - Today, we’ll head to Tianmen Mountain. It takes around 30 minutes to reach the mountain from the city center by car. We’ll start by taking the planet’s longest cable car up Tianmen Mountain. The cable car ride is an adventure in itself, lasting about 30 minutes. As you ascend, you’re treated to a 360-degree view of the city, the surrounding mountains, and the deep valleys below. It’s like a slow-moving aerial tour, allowing you to soak in the beauty of Zhangjiajie from a unique perspective. Once at the top, we’ll begin exploring the thrilling cliffside walkways. These walkways, built along the very edge of the cliffs, offer heart-stopping views. Looking down, you see a vertical drop that makes your stomach churn, while looking out, you’re greeted with a vast expanse of mountains and forests that seem to stretch on forever. The sense of danger and the beauty of the landscape combine to create a truly exhilarating experience.
Zhangjiajie National Forest Park - Then, we’ll marvel at the awe-inspiring Tianmen Cave. This natural wonder is a colossal cave that slices through the mountain. Standing at 131.5 meters high, 57 meters wide, and 60 meters deep, it’s a sight that leaves you speechless. According to legend, the cave was formed when the mountain split open during an earthquake in 263 AD. To reach the cave, you can choose to take the escalator or challenge yourself by climbing the steep “Heaven’s Ladder” with 999 steps. Standing in front of the cave, you can feel the power of nature and the sense of history that permeates the place. The wind blowing through the cave, the sunlight filtering in, and the sheer scale of the formation all contribute to an experience that is both humbling and inspiring.
Zhangjiajie - Your local guide will tailor the itinerary to your pace, ensuring you don’t miss any of the breathtaking scenery. And rest assured, all entry fees are included, so you can focus on enjoying the experience without any worries.
