• Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park - Standing at an elevation of 1,518.6 meters, Tianmen Mountain is the tallest peak in Zhangjiajie and has been a stunning national forest park since 1992. It is the second 5A-rated attraction in Zhangjiajie. Visitors are often captivated by the steep cliffs and the breathtaking natural beauty of the area, as well as the panoramic views of the mountains and the city. The mountain is renowned for the Tianmen Cave, a natural wonder resembling a gate, formed by an ancient cliff collapse. Highlights include the Tianmen Mountain Cableway, which is the longest cable car at 7.5 km, the Bonsai Garden in the air, the plank road and glass walkway, Tianmen Cave, and the Heaven-linking Avenue. It is a must-visit destination in Zhangjiajie.

• Tianzi Mountain - Known for the iconic Imperial Writing Brush view, Tianzi Mountain is featured on the first Zhangjiajie stamps and is the official image of the park. Many consider it the most beautiful mountain in Zhangjiajie. Also called the “Kingdom of Peaks,” it boasts over 1,000 peaks. Numerous viewing platforms offer different perspectives of these unique peaks, adorned with beautiful trees and serene canyons, reminiscent of a Chinese painting, often described as an enlarged bonsai or a mini fairyland. Helong Park, established in 1986 on Tianzi Mountain, commemorates Helong, one of the ten marshals in the PLA, whose hometown lies at the mountain’s base. Visitors can see his bronze statue with a horse and his cemetery. The Tianzi Mountain Cable Car provides a scenic route up and down the mountain.

• Yuanjiajie - Known as Avatar Mountain, Yuanjiajie offers a one-hour walk around the large mesa platform, passing the Sky Pillar, the largest floating mountain featured in the movie Avatar. Standing 350 meters above the ground, the Sky Pillar, also known as Avatar Mountain, is wider at the top and narrower at the base, making it the most famous spot here. The Enchanting Platform offers a truly mesmerizing view of green mountains in varying distances and shapes, making visitors forget about returning home.

Visitors can then take a bus to the Bailong Elevator, which holds three world records: it is the highest outdoor sightseeing mountain elevator at 326 meters, the fastest glass sightseeing elevator at 5 meters per second, and the largest elevator, carrying 64 people at once. In just 88 seconds, it reaches the top of the mountain, offering views of 48 peaks that resemble a lineup of generals.
