- Zhangzhou Tianluokeng Village - After breakfast, the driver will pick up the guests. Approximately 2.5 hours later, they will arrive at Tianluokeng Tulou, where the guide will be waiting. The knowledgeable Tulou tour guide will share insights about the history of the Tulou (Hakka Earth Buildings), the lifestyle of the Hakka people, and essential facts about the earth buildings to be visited.
First, visitors will head to the viewing platform for a panoramic view of the Tianluokeng Tulou Clusters. There will be 20 minutes of free time to admire the picturesque “Four Dishes and One Soup” formation. It’s a perfect opportunity to capture some stunning photos, just like many others who visit.
After descending, the vehicle will transport guests directly to the village. They will explore this masterpiece of traditional Chinese residential architecture and uncover its mysteries firsthand. With the assistance of a Hakka-speaking guide, guests can engage in conversations with the residents whose ancestors constructed this building 650 years ago.
- Zhangzhou Tianluokeng Village - Following a 1-hour visit to the Tianluokeng Tulou Clusters, guests will visit a local Hakka family for a traditional Chinese lunch. They can savor local Hakka cuisine and special homemade rice wine!
After lunch, the tour continues to the “rickety building” - Yuchang Building, the oldest and largest known round building. Visitors will observe the leaning columns that appear on the verge of collapse, yet remarkably, it has withstood 700 years of weathering and numerous earthquakes, remaining unchanged as a living example of ancient residential architecture.
- Xiamen - Exiting Yuchang Building, guests will stroll through Taxia Village along the serene river, often referred to as the “Zhouzhuang Water Town in the south of Fujian.” They will gain an inside look at this typical Chinese Hakka village, home to many renowned overseas Chinese. Visitors can explore the ancestral hall, De Yuan Hall, where local Hakka people honor their ancestors.
After the tour, guests can relax in the comfortable vehicle during the 2.5-hour drive back to Xiamen. They will be conveniently transferred back to their hotel, airport, train station, or any other location in downtown Xiamen, such as a restaurant or bar, if desired.
