Jinan – Zhengzhou (L)

Shaolin Temple - The driver will collect guests from their hotel lobby in Jinan and transport them to Jinan West Railway Station. The morning train to Zhengzhou takes approximately 4 hours.

Upon arrival, guests will meet a friendly local tour guide and be directly transferred to Shaolin Temple (about a 1.5-hour drive). During the journey, the tour guide will share the history of Shaolin Temple, while guests enjoy the scenic countryside.

Upon reaching Shaolin Temple, guests will stop at a local restaurant for a delightful lunch. Renowned for Chinese Kung Fu, Shaolin Temple offers visitors the chance to witness authentic Kung Fu demonstrations by Shaolin monks. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the temple was initially built in 495 A.D. by Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty to house the Indian master Batuo. Recognized as the birthplace of Chan Buddhism and the cradle of Kung Fu, Shaolin Temple holds significant cultural importance. With the guidance of a knowledgeable tour guide, guests will learn about the temple’s history, culture, and stories.

Pagoda Forest of Shaolin Temple - Guests will then explore the Pagoda Forest, a collection of tomb pagodas for the temple’s eminent monks and abbots. With over 240 tomb pagodas from the Tang, Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties (618-1911), it is the largest pagoda forest in China.

After the visit, guests will be transferred to their accommodation in Luoyang (approximately a 1.5-hour drive). Please ensure accommodation in Luoyang is booked in advance.

Luoyang - Jinan (L)

Longmen Grottoes - The tour guide will pick up guests at the scheduled time and proceed directly to Longmen Grottoes.

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Longmen Grottoes feature over 2,300 caves and niches carved into steep limestone cliffs along a 1km stretch. It is the largest and most impressive collection of Chinese art from the late Northern Wei and Tang Dynasties (316-907). With the guidance of a knowledgeable tour guide, guests will also visit the Fengxian Temple and the Wanfo Cave.

Longmen Grottoes - After enjoying a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, the tour guide will escort guests to Luoyang Railway Station for their train back to Jinan (approximately 4 hours). Guests may also choose to conclude their tour in Luoyang.

Upon arrival in Jinan, the driver will pick up guests at Jinan West Railway Station and return them to their hotel in Jinan City.

Note: Guests will take the train independently, and the local English-speaking tour guide will meet them in Zhengzhou.
