Fenqi Hu Old Street - Fènqì Hú serves as a key station on the Alishan Forest Railway. This narrow-gauge railway, constructed during the Japanese colonial era, was initially used for transporting timber from Alishan. Today, it offers a picturesque tourist route. Arriving around lunchtime, be sure to try the “Fenqi Hu Bento,” a must-have experience!
Alishan National Forest Recreation Area - Nestled in Chiayi County’s mountainous region, Alishan is renowned for its majestic ancient trees, breathtaking landscapes, and the “sea of clouds” phenomenon. Visitors can enjoy a tranquil environment with lush greenery, scenic trails, and invigorating mountain air. Popular attractions include Numaping Station, Sister Ponds, Magnolia Garden, Shenyi Waterfall, Shouzhen Temple, and more.
Magnificent Trip to Sun Moon Lake
Sun Moon Lake - The name “Sun Moon Lake” is derived from its distinctive shape. The eastern side resembles a crescent moon, while the western side is round like the sun. This unique shape inspired the name “Sun Moon Lake” (日月潭). The Chinese characters for 日 (sun) and 月 (moon) symbolize the harmony of opposites, adding a poetic touch to the location.
Sun Moon Lake Shuishe Wharf - Visitors can embark on a sightseeing boat from here to admire the stunning views of Sun Moon Lake from its center. Afterward, tourists have the option to rent bicycles at Shuishe Pier and enjoy a ride along the lake.
Wen Wu Temple - Wen Wu Temple showcases traditional Chinese architectural style. Its red roof, intricately carved wooden beams, cornices, and other designs lend the temple a dignified and grand appearance. The temple also features numerous carvings, including finely crafted dragon columns and painted ceilings, highlighting the artistic beauty of traditional architecture.
Classic Taichung City Tour
Miyahara - Miyahara is a red-brick building constructed by Japanese ophthalmologist Miyahara Takeo in 1927. It was the largest ophthalmology clinic in Taichung during the Japanese colonial period. Fortunately, Dawn Cake, a pastry company famous for its pineapple cakes, acquired the building and preserved Miyahara’s original red-brick walls and archway.
The renowned “Fourth Credit Union” has been transformed by the “Dawn Cake” company into a unique, ancient-style dessert store.
Taichung - Enjoy dining at Taichung Station Tielu Street Food Court or at Taichung Second Public Retail Market.
National Taichung Theater - The most iconic architectural landmark in Taichung City, the National Opera House, was designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito. The building features an organic, curvaceous shape, with flowing forms that resemble natural elements like caves or flowing water. The design emphasizes open spaces and continuous curves, avoiding traditional right angles or sharp corners.
Gaomei Wetland - The itinerary is specially arranged for group tourists to witness the stunning sunset at Gaomei Wetland. With careful observation, one can also spot creatures like mudskippers and fiddler crabs.
