Great way to learn how to create amazing traditional dishes! - Highly recommend Chocolate and Chiles street food cooking class. It’s a bit of a drive from La Crucecita but worth it. We loved the education/history lesson and creating amazing salsas, fillings, and a margarita! The location is beautiful. Love the cookbook that has the recipes in it so you can make at home.

A cooking, mixology and history lesson worthy of your vacation time. - What a wonderful experience! Jane is genuine, passionate and appreciative of all things cooking and Mexico. Her knowledge of the national and local culture, history and food brings the whole cooking class together. It’s easy to read a recipe book or watch a video, but Jane’s personal stories puts a memorable bow on the whole experience. The setting was perfect too!

Fun and a learning experience - Jane did a wonderful job of making everyone in the group feel comfortable. Explanations of the ingredients that we were using were in enlightening. We not only learned a little about cooking but about history. The trip out to the cooking school was interesting. It’s always fun to be able to see some of the countryside. We got a good variety of tastes because each team made a different flavor of the same item. The meal that we shared was delicious. And we all helped to make it.

Do yourself a favour and sign up - So much fun learning to cook Mexican street food, but it was the wayJane wove in her knowledge of and passion for the local culture and history that really elevated the experience. Delicious food, great setting, and have fun, relaxed atmosphere. We’re really glad we decided to do this.

Fantastic family experience in Huatulco - We had an amazing time with Jane at her cooking school learning about local recipes, techniques, culture, and history. We all agreed this was our favorite activity while we were in Huatulco. Our 11yo jumped right in and was learning from Jane right along side my wife and I. Our 9yo even helped out where he could and Jane was awesome engaging with him and finding tasks he could enjoy doing. And when he got bored, he was in charge of petting the resident perros who lazily slept on the porch. The location of the cooking school is remote but that is part of the charm. It is an absolutely beautiful spot on the high banks of a river. The Street Food Class was perfect for our family including the youngsters. We loved making everything on the menu but the standouts were the tortillas and the salsas. I also liked the fresh Jamaica Margarita. ;) 5 out of 5. We cant wait to go back and try a different menu.

Fun Family Cooking Class! - Fun Activity! Our Street Food Class was truly an exceptionally interesting and fun family activity. Jane is a very warm, knowledgeable, organized teacher who helped create a wonderful family experience! We enjoyed all the fresh, delicious food. I especially loved the Red Salsa and the refreshing beverages made from scratch. We expected to learn how to make some traditional Mexican foods, but we didn’t expect to have our experience match, or beat, our other enjoyable experiences in Oaxaca! Although I didn’t get to Jane’s restaurant for a dinner, which is currently available Tuesday evenings, it is at the top of my To-Experience List for next time. If you are looking to eat out, Cafe Juanita is conveniently located across from Dreams and comes highly recommended. Thank you so much Jane, I feel grateful to have met you ❤️
