DAY 1: Zurich Airport Meet & Greet

Zurich Airport - Welcome to Switzerland.

Upon arrival at Zurich Airport, a friendly Guide will greet you outside the customs area. After a warm welcome, the Guide will assist with your luggage and accompany you to the airport train station. They will also help with the train transfer to Lucerne, ensuring a comfortable journey to your hotel.

Your adventure kicks off with an itinerary briefing and a Q&A session with your Guide at 1 pm. This is a great chance to meet fellow travelers and address any questions about the upcoming journey.

In the afternoon, your Guide will introduce you to Lucerne and lead a warm-up hike in one of the city’s most picturesque areas.

DAY 2: Hike - Lucerne to Engelberg & Melchsee-Frutt

Engelberg - Your Guide will meet you at the hotel at 7:45 am.

Please leave your luggage at reception with My-Mountains Tags attached. It will be transferred to your next hotel in Melchsee-Frutt. Pack lightly, bringing only essentials for the day.

We’ll embark on a 45-minute train ride from Lucerne to Engelberg, where the day’s hike will begin.

Today’s Hike
The hike is adaptable, and your Guide can modify the route based on your fitness level.
On average:

4 to 5 hours total hiking;
8 miles distance;
total ascent of 426 m/1,400 ft;
total descent of 487 m/1,600 ft.

After a fulfilling day of hiking, unwind and rejuvenate at your comfortable hotel, which features an indoor swimming pool, sauna, and steam rooms.

Tip: Bring your swimsuit as your luggage will arrive by 6 pm at the latest.

DAY 3: Hike - Melchsee-Frutt to Meiringen & Grindelwald

DAY 4: Grindelwald & Jungfrau Region

Jungfrau Region - The Jungfrau region is a renowned mountain retreat facing the Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau peaks.

We’ll take the famous Jungfrau Bahn to visit Jungfraujoch, situated at an impressive 3,463 m/11,362 ft above sea level. From here, you can enjoy the breathtaking panorama of Aletsch, Europe’s largest glacier. A return ticket for the Jungfrau railway is included.

We will explore the many safe, sign-posted mountain trails around Grindelwald, with your guide selecting hikes based on the weather and your energy levels.

Our local English-speaking guides are experts on all the trails, ensuring this part of the tour is truly spectacular.

Day 5: Panorama Hike - First to Bussalp

DAY 6: Trümmelbach Falls, Gimmelwald & Mürren

Lauterbrunnen Valley Waterfalls - Today, travel by train to the Lauterbrunnen valley, famed for its 72 waterfalls. Here, we’ll visit the Trümmelbach falls gorge, uniquely hidden within a mountain and accessible via a network of tunnels, paths, and viewing platforms carved into the rock.

We continue our hike to the charming village of Gimmelwald:

Today’s Hike

Distance: ~7-8 km (4-5 miles)

Elevation Gain: ~700m (2,300 ft)

Time: ~3-4 hours (depending on pace & stops)

Difficulty: Moderate (some steep sections)

Depending on fitness levels, we’ll take a cable car to Gimmelwald and continue our hike to Mürren. This mountain village, located at 1,661 m/5,450 ft, offers a close-up view of the Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau, along with a panorama of more distant peaks.

Optionally, you can take the gondola up to the 2,969 m/9,744 ft Schilthorn and enjoy one of the most stunning views of the Swiss Alps.

Your luggage will be at your Mürren hotel by 6:00 p.m.

DAY 7: Mürren

Mürren - Enjoy a full day to explore the beauty of Mürren and its surroundings. Your Guide will recommend some of our favorite hiking options in the region, tailored to your fitness level for the day.

If you didn’t have time to visit Schilthorn the day before, today is your chance. This mountain peak above Mürren is where the James Bond movie, “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service,” was filmed.

Savor a 360-degree panorama from the peak’s rotating restaurant. If the weather is favorable, you can admire the best Alpine vistas in the region.

DAY 8: Departure

Grutschalp - Mürren Hiking Trail - Before departure, your guide will provide all the necessary details for reaching your next destination.

Take the train to Grütschalp and the cable car down to Lauterbrunnen. From here, you can catch a train to Interlaken and other destinations. Your Swiss Travel Pass is valid on all Swiss public transportation.
