- Teatro Principal de Alicante - On your left is the Theatre of Alicante. As the name suggests, it is the city’s main theatre. Its construction dates back to 1845, during a time when Alicante thrived on trade extending to America.
- Palacio El Portalet - A quick note on the door to your right. It leads to the Portalet Palace and offers free access to explore the place.
- Plaza Portal de Elche - Here is a charming little square. Whether it’s the 19th-century booth, the inviting small tables, or the massive century-old ficus trees providing shade, it is a delightful spot.
- Carrer San Francisco - You are now on San Francisco Street, affectionately known as Calle de las Setas, or Mushroom Street. Just a step onto this street, and you are transported into a children’s tale with giant insects and 4-meter-high mushrooms on a colorful cobblestone floor.
- Placa Gabriel Miro - You have arrived at the lovely little square of Gabriel Miro, named in honor of the city’s native writer. Locals may refer to it as Plaza de Correos, due to the old post and telegraph building on your left.
