Would do it again - Got the 13:45 cruise on 7th March, excellent captain who was very informative and humorous. Excellent way to spend an hour in Amsterdam, especially as you can get drinks and snacks from the departure lounge to take on board.

Very nice afternoon tour - We had a lovely tour of the city, with audio guide and the captain chiming in on occasion. You get to enjoy the canals and some of the highlights around them. It's a quick tour, just an hour, but very enjoyable. Also, if it's cold, you'll be happy it's not much longer, and also that the boat isn't fully open!

1 hour cruise along the canals - I really enjoyed this 1 hour boat ride. It was a bit confusing to find the boat (as it was not next to their big sign where some of their other boats take off from) but I just asked at the kiosk and they pointed me in the right direction. The audio was provided via a recording that you plugged free, complementary headphones into and was in a range of different language options. The boat has windows and panels, so sometimes more difficult to take photos from, but it was really relaxing to float down the canals and learn a bit of Amsterdam history. There are other boats that have drinks etc on them - this is not one, but that didn’t impact the enjoyment of this tour at all. Would recommend to anyone who’s looking to see Amsterdam from the canals.

Winter cruise - A bit of a spur of the moment decision to do the cruise as the price was reasonable. However, and given it was winter and the weather had been wet the view from the boat was not 100% clear due to water on the windows. The audio also seemed to loop a couple of tiles and was repetitive in some places. Was interesting but not sure if I can recommend this cruise or not. Maybe just a bad day

Good 1-hour overview of parts of the city from the canals - This place was directly across the canal from our hotel and the central train station. It appeared that there were some other tour options just across the bridge from here also. I think there are more departure points (some for this company and some for others) at other spots also. This was convenient for us and the cost seemed in line with what other places were charging (between 15 and 20 Euros per person). I think there are options where you can get a cocktail / beer / wine on some cruise, but this wasn't one of those. There is ticket kiosk just off the bridge where they sell tickets to multiple different Amsterdam attractions, including the cruise. There was a short line when we arrived but it moved quickly. I think that, during peak hours, they have boats leaving every 15 - 20 minutes. There wasn't a need to check scheduling online, but they probably have one listed on a website. The tour lasted about an hour and covered several different areas. It was mostly a recorded narration (you got free, cheap headsets which you plugged in at your seat and selected the language by channel). The boat driver sometimes chimed in where there was no recording. We took this on our first afternoon in Amsterdam and were somewhat dazed and jetlagged. We might have gotten more out of it some other day, but the weather was nice. My only other observation is that these boats have sides with windows, but the top is mostly open (unless it is raining). If you have an interest in taking photos from the boat (assuming it is not raining), you might want to opt for a boat with no sides or roof for better field of vision. I did see other companies with that type of boat. It seemed sort of obligatory to do a canal cruise while in Amsterdam, and this company was more than adequate to check that off your itinerary.

Double Disappointed - First at Dock Workers, then Customer Service - Extremely disappointed with Lovers Canal Cruises. We purchased four tickets under the assurance we’d be seated together, only to find out last minute that wasn’t the case. Despite an available boat right after, they refused to accommodate us or issue a refund. It’s ridiculous that they don’t guarantee seating together for groups—who’d want to take an hour-long cruise separated from their friends? Would not recommend.

Bad experience - My husband and I were hoping to have a romantic experience with this Amsterdam Canal Cruise. It was our first time in the city (and will be the last). We were the first in the queue to board, when the manager of the place, PRISCILA (plant of the day 12/4/25, at 1:45 PM, sent us to another boat already full, old and different from the other boats of the place. I told her it wasn't fair because the boat was full and we couldn't sit together. She was extremely rude and rude, shouting that she was the manager of the place and gave us no choice. We had to sit apart, feeling completely humiliated in front of the other people present at the venue. 35 euros thrown in the trash. What was supposed to be a special moment ended up completely ruining the experience. There are many other boats and companies nearby. Do you guys a favor, don't use this company.
