Participants are taken to the local market in Antigua to purchase the freshest ingredients for meal preparation. Deep within the market, there is an opportunity to sample a variety of exotic fruits, many of which may be unfamiliar. Without a local guide, many culinary opportunities might be missed! (On Sundays, the experience may vary as many local vendors close for rest, so the market is not as bustling as on regular days.)
After collecting the produce, participants are taken to a rooftop cooking studio to prepare their own lunch or dinner. The studio offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and volcanoes near Antigua. While chopping vegetables, the Fuego volcano may even be erupting in the background. Sharing the meal creates a sense of being part of the local culture!
