An excellent activity for a birthday! - We had such an amazing time at this cooking class! Milton, the chef, really made sure to go at our pace, and make sure to answer all of our many questions, and all of the food was delicious (we made both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options). This was a birthday activity, so they decorated the space specially for us, and made sure there were plenty of fun treats and surprises. All in all, could not have asked for a better birthday activity.

Best cooking class ever!! - Our cooking with Milton couldn’t have been better! You could see ( and taste! ) the attention to detail in every aspect of this experience. Milton made the class more than just learning how to make traditional Guatemalan food, as he provided insight into the hearts, souls, and stomachs of the local people. The class felt like you were having a dinner party with friends on a beautiful rooftop, if only cooking at home could be this fun! His strong culinary skills paired with his charming, warm, and welcoming personality made this class a 10/10.

100000% book this class!!! - Milton was an incredible guide, friend, and chef! We had the most amazing time going to the market and cooking on his rooftop. He answered all our questions, shared pieces of the local history, and taught us to cook one of Guatemala’s traditional dishes. There was so much food and drink, we were so full! Would 100% recommend this class to anyone who has an interest in Antigua and wants to have a great memory to bring home. We have already recommended this class to a bunch of friends, it made that great of an impression!!

Book this right now! Fantastic experience - BEST COOKING CLASS EVER! Milton was such a great instructor. He made the cooking very fun and gave an authentic experience with taking us to his local market and family home. The views from the rooftop were incredible. I would recommend taking this class over others because Milton ensures that the group size is small for his classes so that he can make the most of your experience. Took this class on my birthday and wouldn’t have wanted to spend the day any other way:)

Fantastic experience with views of erupting Fuego - Such an incredible local experience. Milton took his time walking me through the Central Market explaining the difference between vendors and what he looks for when he shops there for his produce and such. We then headed to his house and rooftop kitchen with fantastic views of Fuego and its many eruptions during the class. Our class covered fruits, tostados, Pepian, and desert. All with fresh ingredients that we used. Nothing was premade. I highly recommend this experience.

Best. Cooking. Class. Ever. - Best. Cooking. Class. Ever. Try to go on a market day (especially Saturday!) because the market is absolutely incredible. Having a local guide makes it extra awesome. Milton is truly fantastic in every way and shares his city, home, and family recipes with you. He's very talented, and the food is absolutely delicious! Idyllic setting with incredible views of the volcano while you cook. There are a few other companies who try to offer a similar service, but make sure you're with foodietenango- this is the one not to miss! Very safe for female solo travelers too. 10/10.

Authentic and intimate experience - Perfect tour to learn more about Guatemalan culture! We loved starting off with the market tour where we got to explore parts that we wouldn’t have gone to on our own. We then took a tuktuk to Milton’s family home 10 min from the market and were greeted with amazing rooftop views of volcan de fuego where the cooking class took place. We learned how to make several traditional Guatemalan dishes. The food was delicious and Milton was very kind/engaging. They even catered to one in our party who was vegetarian. Towards the end of our experience it started pouring rain, and although the rooftop was covered, they welcomed us into their family dining room to finish our meal. After our experience was done they provided a tuktuk ride back to the city center. Definitely recommend this experience while in Antigua.
