Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - After enjoying breakfast at your hotel in Arusha, between 0730hrs and 0800hrs, your personal driver guide will pick you up for a direct journey to Tarangire National Park, approximately a 2.5-hour drive to the entrance. Located in northern Tanzania, Tarangire National Park is renowned for its diverse wildlife and landscapes, particularly its elephant herds. It boasts the highest concentration of African elephants and ancient baobab trees. The name Tarangire is derived from the Mbugwe tribe, where “Tara” means river and “Ngire” means warthogs, thus it is known as the river of warthogs. Lunch will be served at a picnic site around 1200hrs to 1300hrs, followed by a game drive until late afternoon. You will then exit the park and proceed to your lodge in Karatu for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Karatu to Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast at your lodge in Karatu, between 0730hrs and 0800hrs, you will head directly to Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Serengeti National Park is the most renowned park in Tanzania’s northern circuit, with the largest wildlife population on the planet. The name Serengeti comes from the Maasai word “Seringiti,” meaning endless plains. The southeastern part of Serengeti features short grass plains, while the northern region, known as Kogatende, has more hills and rocks. The western corridor, called Grumeti, includes rivers, valleys, and forests. Some areas in central Serengeti, extending northward, are dotted with ‘kopjes’. Lunch will be served within the park, and you will continue with game viewing until evening, when you will head to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Full Day Game Drive at Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast at your accommodation within Serengeti, embark on an early morning game drive to spot big cats and other active wildlife. Lunch will be served in the park, after which you will continue exploring the park’s landscapes, wildlife, and more. In the evening, return to your lodge or tented camp for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu
Ngorongoro Crater - After breakfast at your accommodation in Serengeti, drive directly to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, approximately a 3-hour journey to the crater floor. Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a geopark, 600 meters deep. Before descending, stop at a viewpoint to admire the crater below. Then, enter for game viewing, and enjoy a packed lunch at a picnic site by the hippo pool. Conclude your game drive before ascending the crater and heading to your accommodation in Karatu for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
Tanzanite Experience to Lake Manyara National Park to Maasai Boma to Arusha
Lake Manyara - After breakfast at your lodge in Karatu, between 0730hrs and 0800hrs, depart for the Tanzanite Experience to learn about the extraction of these rare earth gems. Then, proceed to Lake Manyara National Park, about a 1-hour drive to the entrance. Lake Manyara National Park is famous for its birdlife and tree-climbing lions. Lunch will be served at a picnic site, followed by a visit to a Maasai boma for an in-depth look at the last true nomads and their lifestyle. After the boma visit, travel to Arusha, where a representative will offer a special farewell. If you wish to stay an extra night in Arusha, arrangements can be made in advance.
