Monduli - Following breakfast, depart from Arusha and journey to a traditional Maasai village for a cultural experience where you will discover their lifestyle, dances, and customs. Spend time interacting with the Maasai people, learning about their traditions, traditional dances, housing, and way of life. This immersive experience provides a unique insight into one of Tanzania’s most iconic tribes. After the visit, return to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay at Karibu Heritage House.
Drive to Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - Guests will be picked up from their hotel in Arusha. After a 2.5-hour drive through stunning landscapes, arrive at Tarangire National Park. Located 120 km south of Arusha, this long and narrow park covers 2850 km² and follows the Tarangire River. The park is named after the Tarangire River, which serves as the only water source for wildlife during the dry season. The park is renowned for its large elephant population, baobab trees, and tree-climbing African pythons. At the end of the day, guests will head to Fig Lodge.
Walking Tour around Mto wa Mbu Town
Mto wa Mbu - After breakfast, travel to the lively village of Mto wa Mbu for a guided cultural walking tour. This diverse village offers a rich blend of cultures. Stroll through local farms, banana plantations, bustling markets, and artisan workshops. There will be opportunities to interact with locals, sample freshly prepared banana beer, and enjoy a traditional Swahili lunch prepared by a local family. After the tour, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Fig Lodge, where you can relax and reflect on the day’s cultural experiences.
Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha
Ngorongoro Crater - On this day, embark on a game drive in the stunning Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater has a diameter of about 20 kilometers and a 600-meter-high crater wall. It is the largest intact crater in the world, home to an estimated 30,000 large mammals. At the center of the crater lies a Salt Lake. This is one of the most densely populated wildlife areas globally, where animals and humans, such as the authentic Maasai and Hadzabe, coexist. From the crater’s edge, enjoy views of the impressive crater and its wonderful inhabitants. In the afternoon, return to Arusha or proceed directly to the airport.
