Aswan High Dam - The High Dam:
The Aswan High Dam is a rock-fill dam situated at the northern border between Egypt and Sudan. It is fed by the River Nile, forming Lake Nasser as its reservoir. The construction of the dam commenced in 1960 and concluded in 1968, with its official inauguration taking place in 1971.
Unfinished Obelisk - The Unfinished Obelisk:
Aswan was renowned for providing ancient Egypt with its finest granite, used for crafting statues and adorning temples, pyramids, and obelisks.
The large unfinished obelisk in the Northern Quarries offers valuable insights into the methods used to create these monuments, although the complete construction process remains somewhat unclear. Three sides of the shaft, nearly 42 meters long, were completed except for the inscriptions. Weighing 1168 tonnes, the finished obelisk would have been the heaviest single piece of stone ever crafted by the Egyptians.

Abu Simbel - The two temples were carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BC.
Upon arrival, an Egyptologist guide will provide insights into one of the most remarkable and whimsical pharaohs in Egyptian history. Be amazed by the main façade of the Great Temple to Ramesses II, featuring four statues of the pharaoh seated on his throne as he aged.
In theory, the main temple is dedicated to Amon-Re Horakhty and Ptah, but in practice, it was built to glorify its creator, Ramses the Great. Proceed to the smaller temple of Ramesses’ consort, Queen Nefertari, located adjacent to the Great Temple. Admire the impressive rock-cut façade depicting the pharaoh and his queen.
