- Archaeological Site Mycenae - Following the Corinth Canal, the journey continues into the Argolis region, the illustrious land of Mycenae, celebrated in Homer’s tales and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dating back to the second century B.C., Mycenae was a pivotal center of Greek civilization and a military stronghold that influenced much of southern Greece. Visitors will explore the archaeological site, the legendary kingdom of Agamemnon, featuring the Cyclopean Walls, the Lion Gate, the Royal Tombs, including that of Clytemnestra, and the Treasury of Atreus, a remarkable 14th-century B.C. sculpture. There will be an opportunity for an optional traditional Greek lunch at a nearby restaurant.
- Nafplio - Nafplio, a charming town on the Peloponnese coast, blends history with allure. As the first capital of Greece, it is renowned for its neoclassical architecture and landmarks such as the Palamidi Fortress and Bourtzi Castle. During the 90-minute stop – including 30 minutes for lunch (if desired) – visitors can explore the Old Town, stroll along the waterfront, or discover local shops and cafes. A brief visit to one of Greece’s most romantic destinations.
- The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus - Before lunch, there is an optional stop at a ceramic factory. After lunch, the tour proceeds to Epidaurus to visit the ancient theater. This UNESCO World Heritage site is famed as the birthplace of Apollo’s son, Asclepius, the healer, and was the most renowned healing center in the classical world. Epidaurus is particularly famous for its theater, one of the best-preserved structures in classical Greece, still in use today for its exceptional acoustics. The day trip through Argolis (Mycenae - Epidaurus) concludes with a return to Athens in the afternoon.
