- Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Saqqara is a significant part of Memphis’s vast necropolis. Here, visitors can explore one of Egypt’s major archaeological sites, the Complex of King Djoser, which dates back to the third dynasty (around 2630 BC). This complex is recognized as the first complete stone construction in ancient Egyptian history and features the oldest stone structure in the Pharaonic civilization, the step pyramid, designed by the engineer Imhotep.
Visitors can also discover other types of pharaonic pyramids, such as the King Teti pyramid from the sixth dynasty. Unlike the Giza pyramids, these contain pyramid texts, which served as a guide for the king’s journey to the afterlife.
Additionally, the burial site of ancient Noble Egyptians from the old and new kingdoms can be explored, including the Kagemni tomb, which displays inscriptions depicting daily life in ancient Egypt.
- Memphis and Sakkara - Known as the city of the Scorpion King, the first king of ancient Egypt and the founder of its first capital, Memphis. Visitors can explore The Open Air Museum, which is one of the remaining evidences of ancient Memphis. It is built around a magnificent fallen colossal limestone statue of Ramses II, offering a unique opportunity to closely examine the carvings. Its twin statue once stood in Midan Ramses in Cairo until 2006, when it was relocated to the Grand Egyptian Museum construction site.
The museum also features an alabaster sphinx from the New Kingdom, two statues of Ramses II that originally adorned Nubian temples, and the large stone beds used for mummifying the sacred Apis bulls before they were placed in the Serapeum at Saqqara.
The COLOSSUS OF RAMESSES II, beautifully carved from a single massive piece of high-quality indurated limestone, is one of the museum’s masterpieces.
- Pyramids of Giza - The Giza Pyramids are among the most captivating pharaonic attractions in Egypt. Visitors can explore the Giza Necropolis to see the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. This site is home to numerous pyramids and tombs from the 4th dynasty, the Old Kingdom. Notably, it includes the pyramid of King Cheops, the only remaining wonder of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
The tour also includes a visit to the Princesses and Queens Pyramids, followed by a stop at the Valley Temple of King Chefren, which was used for the purification and mummification of the king’s body. The tour continues to the Great Sphinx, with its lion body and human head, believed by the ancient Egyptians to guard this great necropolis.
For an additional fee, visitors can enjoy a camel ride around the Giza pyramids, accompanied by a professional photographer to capture stunning photos with a panoramic view of all the pyramids.
- Great Sphinx - Before visiting the Great Sphinx, visitors should pass through the Valley Temple of King Khafre. This temple was used for the purification and mummification of the king’s body. The tour then proceeds to the Great Sphinx, with its lion body and human head, which, according to Pharaonic beliefs, guards this great necropolis.
