Day 1 - Cairo to the White Desert:

Bahariya Oasis - At 6:00 am, the operator will pick you up from your hotel in Giza or Cairo and drive you to Bahariya Oasis, located approximately 350 km east of Cairo. This journey takes about 4 hours. In the past, when residents of Bahariya wanted to travel to the Nile Valley, they often waited for a passing caravan, taking three days to travel between the Nile and the oasis. How fortunate we are today!

Black Desert - Travel to the Black Desert, named for the layer of black powder covering its mountains, highlands, and sand. This powder coats the peaks of some mountains.

Valley of Agabat - At 1:00 pm, drive to the Valley of Agabat.

At 2:00 pm, arrive at the Valley of Agabat deep within the White Desert. The otherworldly beauty of the place must be experienced firsthand. Millions of years ago, this area was underwater. Over time, unique rock formations of limestone, chalk, and possibly sand have developed.

White Desert - At 5:30 pm, set up tents and enjoy the sunset.

At 6:30 pm, as the sky turns pink and a deep fiery orange, the rock shapes fade, and silence surrounds you. Sitting around a small fire and enjoying a simple meal of chicken, rice, and vegetables, you will find it incredibly satisfying. Bedouin staff will arrange dinner and desert camping. (Vegetarian options are available.)

Note: At night, temperatures can drop suddenly in the White Desert, so a proper jacket is necessary for a comfortable night. Don’t worry, all camping equipment such as sleeping bags, tents, and mattresses is provided.

Day 2 - White Desert to Bahariya Oasis:

Bahariya Oasis - At 9:00 am, on the return journey, visit The Crystal Mountain, locally known as Gebel al-Izzaz. It’s more of a crystal hill, often called the Jewel of the Desert, formed by quartzite crystals and stunning in the sun’s rays. This natural feature was discovered by accident a few decades ago.

Gebel al Ingleez White Desert - Explore Bahariya Oasis, including the palm and olive fields, and Gebel Maghrafa, where the largest dinosaur (Stromer’s Tidal Giant) was discovered in 1914 at the base of Gebel Dist. Visit Lake al-Marun, the largest salt lake in Bahariya Oasis, and enjoy the sunset from the summit of the English Mountain (Gebel Al Ingleez). The view from the top offers a panorama of the northern part of the oasis. Overnight stay at Ecolodge Hotel in Bahariya Oasis.

Day 3 - Bahariya Oasis to Cairo:

Bawiti - After breakfast at the hotel, visit the tombs of Bannentiu and Djed-Ankh-Amun-Iuf (Zed-Amun) at Qasr Selim (26th Dynasty). In 1938, Egyptian archaeologist Ahmed Fakhry (1905-1973) discovered four tombs at the ridge of Qarat Qasr Selim. Visit Bawiti, the capital of Bahariya Oasis, and then explore the Museum of the Golden Mummies and the Temple of Ain El Muftella.
