- Palace of the Shirvanshahs - Shirvanshahs’ Palace - This UNESCO World Heritage Site in Baku was the residence of the Shirvanshahs, who ruled much of present-day Azerbaijan from the 9th to the 16th centuries. Built between the 12th and 14th centuries at the highest point of Icherisheher, the palace is a stunning example of medieval Islamic architecture and now serves as a modern museum.
- Baku Old City - The Bukhara caravanserai, constructed in the late 15th century, lies along the trade route of Icherisheher in Baku. The caravanserai features a square shape with a prominent portal, and its courtyard is octagonal. It is encircled by balconies and private quarters, including chapels along its perimeter.
