Everything you want in a Canadian Rockies hiking experience, without the crowds. Hidden behind the Lake Louise Ski Resort, the Skoki Backcountry is normally only accessible by first hiking a 9km return fire road. Skip the fire road with our exclusive van shuttle to the edge of the ski area boundary, to start our hike in the pristine wilderness of the Skoki backcountry.
Hike with us as we travel through pristine forests, along clear mountain creeks and fields of mountain wildflowers to reach turquoise high alpine lakes nestled among the towering glacier-clad peaks of the Canadian Rockies. We’ll provide transportation, a professional driver and interpretive guide with commentary and local stories as they whisk you away to your hiking adventure. We’ll bring everything you need, including lunch.
- Dress code is according to the weather; please check the current reports, dress in layers, and bring a rain jacket.
- Hiking shoes or boots are required.

Skoki back country trip - Fabulous experience. We had two excellent guides, Josh and Michael. They were both well-informed about flora, fauna, and the locale. Plus, there were very good natured people. It was nice to feel safe and cared for. I recommend this trip.

Wonderful hike, beautiful landscape. Almost non one else around. - Margaret and Santiago were fantastic guides. We had an absolutely amazing day and highly recommend the tour. We saw tremendous flora and fauna (hippie sticks and mushrooms, picas and Marmots) and our guys were very knowledgeable about it all. An absolutely beautiful hike.
The lunch was delicious as well.

Amazing scenery with a fantastic guide! - This scenery of this trail/tour is absolutely breathtaking! The Skoki Trail takes you through a stunning landscape of alpine meadows, vibrant lakes, and dramatic mountain passes.
Every turn offered a new, more incredible view than the last. The mountains rise majestically on all sides, making you feel completely immersed in the beauty of the Canadian Rockies. Our tour guide, Jennifer, made the trip even more memorable. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the area's history, flora, and wildlife in the region! Jennifer's guidance made the hike feel safe and enjoyable for us, and her insight added so much depth to our experience. The tour was wonderful, and Jennifer was a fantastic guide, I highly recommend her and this company to anyone considering this incredible hike. If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure with unparalleled natural beauty, the Skoki Trail is a must-do. You won't be disappointed!

Hidden Gem Hike - This was by far my favorite part of my trip to Banff! Sam and Josh were our guides and they were wonderful! They both have a passion for what they do and have a wealth of knowledge about Banff, the wildlife, and the terrain.
The hike was beautiful and it truly is a gem. The hike was so peaceful and it was refreshing to do after being in some touristy areas. If anyone is looking for a nice hike and an opportunity to see the beauty of what Banff has to offer, I highly recommend.
Thank you again to the amazing guides - you made this trip so special!

Great guides, great landscape - The country we traveled through was amazing, views of larches, glaciers,lakes and mountains. Our guides were remarkable,very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs and exceeded our expectations with what we were able to experience. It was a great way to get away from the crowds.

It's worth every minute - What a great day it was. Our hike was great. It's a combination of things that made it so. Aiden, our guide, was very knowledgeable and informative. The hike was beautiful. I would consider it pretty much manageable for most if the distance is not a factor (we hiked 8 & 1/2 miles). We took a nice break for lunch overlooking a beautiful lake. We took several smaller breaks along the way. They offer several types of sandwiches, and everyone seemed to enjoy their choice. I had a veggie sandwich, and it was delicious. Apples, granola bars, bananas, fruit box drinks, and water were also offered. We were picked up at 9:00 in Lake Louise. The rest of the group was picked up earlier in Banff. We finished the hike at about 3:30. I would highly recommend White Mountain Adventures to hike with.

Highly Recommend This Hike - We had a great experience on our guided hike. Josh did a wonderful job making sure everyone was comfortable and set for a good day of hiking. He was very knowledgeable regarding the area and shared information with us along the way. It was fun meeting the other hikers on the trip and enjoying the beauitful scenery. We would hihgly recommend this experience!

Backcounty Beautiful Hike - We had amazing weather to enjoy our backcountry hike with Adrienne leading us. She was very knowledgable and happily shared her experiences with us as we hiked. Adrienne managed to keep everyone engaged and hiking at a pace that worked for everyone. She let the group split the lunch break into two destinations so we could enjoy the epic scenery around us. Adrienne also went the extra mile for us (literally) as we left our bear spray in the shuttle bus. We were able to connect with her and retrieve our spray. An awesome trek and we very nearly had the place to ourselves.

Beautiful and educational hike - perfect! - The guide was amazingly knowledgeable and interesting. I learned a lot and could share what I learned on a tour I took the next day with a less knowledgeable guide. The hike was great, the wildflowers were amazing and the mountains are just beautiful.

Bad decisions by booking agent and by guide in charge - Boo to the owner who accepted someone “with a heart problem” on a trip rated “moderate to challenging”
Boo to the guide who waited not 5 minutes, not 10 minutes but an entire 15 minutes for the same (unsuited) party to arrive, delaying all the other (prepared) participants.
I know ‘this happens’ and i deal with folks all the time who have cognitive or physical disabilities but two massive strikes against the owner and the guide in charge for subjecting 7 able and ready participants to the needs of someone who should have been on a different trip and who was inexcusably late.
We received a call from white mountain adventures yesterday asking us to be ready 15 minutes earlier than agreed - we happily accommodated this request (requiring us to corral two teens (IYKYK that’s no easy ask) only to then have us sit and wait in a parking lot for 15 minutes until the ill-suited party showed.
Once we got underway, our guide asked us to set a slow pace to accommodate someone “with a heart problem”. WTF ???? - we didn’t sign up to be someone else’s caretaker. Bravo for the party in question for attempting, and for their attitude (they clearly said “we don’t want to slow down the group”) but a mega boo to who ever said “yes” to them.
My complaint is not with the party but with the organization.
We had plenty of medical skills in our group and would have made it available if asked but f##k we were on vacation and trying to get away from such demands. A big negative to whomever put us in the position of watching over such a need and another huge boo to whomever asked us to be early then forced us to wait for the same party to arrive (much later than arranged).
