Participants should have a moderate level of fitness for this hike.
Participants should bring warm layers, sturdy hiking boots, and a waterproof jacket. A toque/beanie and gloves are also recommended. Weather conditions can change quickly in the valley, and snow in September is not uncommon.
The guide reserves the right to refuse guests not dressed appropriately for the conditions, without refund.
- Moraine Lake - Enjoy a day hiking above this world-renowned glacial blue lake. Moraine Lake, one of Banff National Park’s most iconic spots, becomes even more magical in Autumn as the Alpine larch changes color.
The alpine larch is unique among its conifer relatives, such as pine and spruce trees. While other conifers remain green year-round, the larch undergoes a stunning transformation in Fall, with its needles turning shades of orange and gold.
Picture an entire valley of these remarkable trees set against the rugged, glacier-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies, and you have the famous Larch Valley of Banff National Park.
