A beautiful tour! - If you love design, and mosaics, this tour is a must! The history and views are beautifully woven together. We did not attend a musical show while we were there, but they were filming a pianist as she practiced. You could hear the acoustics in the room even through a simple piano tune. Would love to go back and hear an orchestra and vocalist there.

Don't miss it - Stunning. Even with all the amazing Gaudi sites, this was a stand-out. The colors, the light coming through the stained glass, the pillars, the overall feel. The guided tour was great.

Worth a tour even if you aren't going for a concert - The palace was designed by another modernist – Montaner – who supposedly was a teacher of Gaudí’s for a short time. The entire building was gorgeous, inside and out; a little more traditional in style than Gaudí’s buildings but opulent and light-filled. The tour guide also gave a mini-organ concert so we could hear how it sounded in the beautiful concert hall. Sadly, we did not get to go to a full concert there.

Highly recommended - To sum it all up, the Palau de la Musica Catalana is a truly extraordinary building, stunning inside and out. Even the restaurant called Café Palau is very much worth a visit for its beautiful architecture. I had pre-booked a ticket online (Guided tour in English €22, but there is also a self-guided tour for €18) and promptly arrived on the day of The Great Power Cut on 28th April last. By the time our group assembled at 2pm, amazingly, the Palau had managed to keep going when other attractions had to close, due to their foresight of having generators installed. From what our young, female guide was telling us in her excellent English, they seemed to have “simply” dimmed all lighting and soldiered through. The Palau itself somehow gave me the impression of a reverse Tardis; it seemed larger when seen from the outside. But I must say, from the moment you enter the vestibule and glimpse its gorgeous ceiling and beautiful marble staircases with their twinkling yellow glass balusters, it only got better and better. Our young lady guide led us through the areas open to the public for approx. 50 minutes, and made our tour not only thoroughly informative but also very engaging. It was very enjoyable. Afterwards, we were invited to spend more time, retracing our steps and taking more time for photo opportunities. Personally, I spend around an hour and a half, and left thinking I had got excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

A must-see, I was stunned - This maybe the only concert hall in the world that is worth experiencing in silence. It is visually stunning. After I’d seen the exterior on a walking tour, I booked a tour of the interior. It was money well spent. No one builds halls like this anymore, where the artistry of the design is at least as important as the technical acoustics. The attached bar and café looked very inviting.

A nice thing to do if... - A nice thing to do if you’re looking for something extra. The Opera House is beautiful, but not an essential visit to Barcelona. Tour guide was very nice.
