Gubeikou served as a crucial pass of the Great Wall in ancient times, providing significant access to Inner Mongolia and the northeast of China. The primary section of the Gubeikou Great Wall was initially constructed during the Ming Dynasty in 1368, consisting of two main parts - the Panlongshan Great Wall (Coiled Dragon Mountain Great Wall) and the Wohushan Great Wall (Crouching Tiger Mountain Great Wall).

The Jinshanling Great Wall was originally built in the Ming Dynasty. The renowned general Xu Da, from the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), oversaw and managed the construction of the Great Wall. Later, in 1567, Qi Jiguang led several defense projects while protecting the northern region. Each tower boasts its own distinctive features and appearance. Jinshanling Great Wall is less crowded, making it an excellent location to explore the Great Wall near Beijing.
