• Bindu Sagara - This charming picnic area spans 1,300 feet in length and 700 feet in width, featuring a small island with several shrines at its center. According to legend, Lord Shiva created the lake to quench Goddess Parvati’s thirst. It is believed that bathing in Bindu Sagar Lake cleanses all sins and drinking its holy water cures diseases.
• Ananta Vasudeva Temple - This magnificent temple houses an idol of Balarama beneath a seven-hooded serpent, with Subhadra holding a pot of jewels. Lord Krishna is depicted holding a mace, chakra, lotus, and conch.
• Bhubaneswar - The walk includes a stroll through Bhubaneswar’s local markets, offering a taste of the city’s vibrant atmosphere.
• Lingaraja Temple - The Lingaraja Temple is Bhubaneswar’s most renowned temple. Constructed in the Kalinga style using sandstone and laterite, it is dedicated to Harihara, a fusion of Vishnu and Shiva. Built in the 11th century CE by King Yayati Keshari of the Somavanshi dynasty, only Hindus are permitted entry.
• Vaital Deul Temple - The tour then explores this 8th-century temple dedicated to Goddess Chamunda. The temple’s tower is striking, with a semi-cylindrical roof resembling the Dravidian-style gopurams of the South. A notable carving is that of the sun god Surya, with a distinct facial expression, flanked by Usha and Pratyusha shooting arrows.
