What a RUSH! - What an awesome experience! The crew was great at letting us know what to expect with the Manta Ray encounter. Sergio, Eric and the Captain put our minds at ease about being in dark waters and how to interact with the Manta Rays. They gave is floating belts to place on our ankles to keep us buoyant. This allowed us to relax floating on the water while holding on to the light board. They also told us the rays liked it when we made noise. It seemed to work. Within seconds we were engulfed in the experience of a lifetime. We were in the water for about thirty minutes and we had Manta Rays the whole time!! ( I think Sergio had some tricks to get the rays to come over to our area.) Our ride to the site from the dock was just a few minutes. Hanging on to the board with one hand and filming with the other was a challenge. My arm was a little tired but worth the effort. I got some great videos!!! When you book your adventure, make sure you fill out the waiver ahead of time. Also, if you book with a third party, read the fine print. I booked with one and their description was vague and confusing. There are moonlight snorkels (early evening but still night) and late night snorkels (11:00 PM). I thought I had a choice of times, but mine was for late night only. I cancelled that one and found another deal that accommodated my choice of times. You also have a different place to check in before you go to the embankment dock. They are about 15 minutes away from each other. Plan ahead and give yourself plenty of time. Parking at the dock can be a challenge and you might have to walk a little ways. I would highly recommend this excursion. MAHALO!

▸Guided by Courage: A Night I Didn’t Face Alone - That night swimming with manta rays was an unforgettable experience, and I have my companions to thank for making it possible. Right before getting in the water, I was genuinely nervous—but they reassured me with calm and encouraging words, guiding me patiently until I felt ready to enter the ocean. They swam beside me to the floating platform, helped secure the buoyancy ring around my ankle, and stayed close the entire time. Although I’m generally comfortable in the water, being in the open ocean for the first time—with nothing but dark, deep blue beneath me—was intimidating at first. But because they were there, I gradually relaxed. Little by little, I shifted my focus from fear to awe, completely absorbed by the graceful movement of the mantas gliding beneath us. Without their support and expertise, I wouldn’t have been able to fully embrace that magical conversation with the ocean. Thank you for helping me push through my fears—and truly embrace the mystery of the sea at night.

Absolutely magical - Amazing experience!! The crew was wonderful and funny. The instructions were clear and we felt very safe on the boat. There were tons of manta rays that swarmed us! Sergei definitely knew how to entice them and it was magical!! I wish I could attach my video to this review!!

Highly recommended! - The tour guides were informative and friendly. They operate quickly and efficiently. The guide in the water pulled us over to where the mantas were feeding and we got an awesome show. It was an amazing experience!

Incredible experience - The crew of the boat was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. My mom is 67 and was nervous about getting off the boat. They helped her feel comfortable and safe and she was able to enjoy this with her daughters and grandkids.

Truly an incredible... - Truly an incredible experience to see these amazing creatures up close! Check in was a little chaotic, and parking is a bit rough at the dock (we just parked in the hotel parking lot due to cops giving a bunch of tickets), but the experience and guides themselves were really incredible.

Treat employees and customers terribly - If you book in the Groupon they only let you do the 11 o clock tour. Fine- they say show up at least an hour early. I checked in at 9:50pm and was told there were 11 people on my boat. I then drove to the dock and waited 45 min plus until just after 11 with four other people. They then said they need 8 people to run the tour and because a group that was booked didn’t show up we could not go. Then two people from my group said they called them and their friends and tried to get them to come earlier on the 10:20 tour. They showed up earlier and their friends were booked into the 10:20 tour but they were told the 10:20 tour was full so they had to wait until 11. So this company called a bunch of people to ask them to come earlier to consolidate the earlier boat and then canceled the later boat. We realized they called all the full price people to come earlier, did not call the Groupon crew and knew it was going to be canceled the whole time. The boat drivers don’t get paid if they take us out and there’s less than 8 on the boat so they said they would but they would get in trouble in addition to not being paid an hour that they were originally promised. I wasted four hours of my day driving to and from and waiting. Terrible service, super rude office workers. Boat workers are treated poorly as well. Couldn’t recommend the experience less. The poor employees were just like “yeah the office sucks I’m so sorry” and called and tried to help but don’t have the real power.

Hawaiian Island and ocean tours: avoid! Take the others - Check-in is done through another company. We were told to go to the port in the evening at 10.30 a.m. Once there, an ambulance took care of people affected by jellyfish in the previous Manta Ray tour. And so everything is cancelled for the evening for all the companies present. No one from our boat is coming to talk to us. The next day no contact despite our many messages. The check-in company says it is not its concern and gives us 2 phone numbers that never answer or only text messages that make no sense. Style, we specify that we leave in 2 days and they say maybe be available in 3 days... in short we left Hawaii without going around Ray Manta while there was room the following days and without being reimbursed. This society is to be avoided and communication is catastrophic. No physical office so no one to talk to. Take other companies that have actual offices at the port.
