A Family Adventure: Discovering Bruges with Ease

Eager to explore the medieval charm of Bruges, we embarked on a cruise and opted for a convenient shuttle service to make our journey seamless. Join us as we delve into the enchanting streets of Bruges and discover its rich history.

Setting Sail to Bruges

Our family has always been drawn to the allure of historical cities, and Bruges, with its medieval charm, was no exception. As a museum curator, I often find myself seeking out destinations that offer both educational and entertaining experiences for my children. This time, we decided to embark on a cruise that would take us to the picturesque city of Bruges, and we opted for the Cruise Express Shuttle to make our journey seamless.

The shuttle service was conveniently located just across the road from the cruise terminal at Zeebrugge. As we disembarked, the sight of the shuttle was a welcome one, especially with two eager children in tow. The efficiency of the service was immediately apparent, and we were on one of the first shuttles heading to Bruges. The journey took a mere 30 minutes, and the friendly staff made the ride enjoyable for everyone.

Exploring the Heart of Bruges

Arriving in Bruges around 10 AM, we were greeted by the city’s enchanting atmosphere. The shuttle dropped us off at the bus station, which was a short 20-minute walk from the city center. While some might find this distance a bit daunting, the walk was a delightful experience in itself. The path led us through a serene park, offering beautiful views and a chance to stretch our legs before diving into the city’s rich history.

Bruges is a city that seems to have leaped straight out of a fairy tale. Its cobblestone streets, medieval buildings, and winding canals captivated our children’s imaginations. We spent the morning exploring the Markt, the bustling central square, where the kids were fascinated by the towering Belfry of Bruges. As a curator, I couldn’t resist sharing stories of the city’s past, turning our walk into an impromptu history lesson.

A Seamless Return

After a day filled with exploration and discovery, it was time to head back to the port. The shuttle service offered return trips every half hour starting from 1:30 PM, giving us ample time to enjoy Bruges without the stress of missing our cruise departure. The return journey was as smooth as the morning’s, with the shuttle arriving promptly and the staff ensuring a comfortable ride back.

Reflecting on our day, I was grateful for the Cruise Express Shuttle service. It provided a hassle-free way to experience Bruges, allowing us to focus on the city’s wonders rather than the logistics of travel. For families looking to explore Bruges from a cruise, this shuttle service is an excellent choice, offering both convenience and a touch of adventure.
