We depart from Sibiu and embark on a journey on Romania’s most picturesque route- Transfagarasan. Reaching Balea Lake, we park our vehicle and commence our hiking venture in the Fagaras Mountain Range. Our trail initiates from 2030 m or 6660 ft, ascends on the left flank of the glacier valley and culminates at an altitude of 2351 m or 7713 ft. after a span of 2 hours. During this hike, you’ll have the opportunity to marvel at the Transfagarasan Scenic Road and capture breathtaking images of Carpathian Mountains’ pristine nature. The extension of this hiking expedition to reach the fifth highest peak of Fagaras Massif depends on your physical fitness, prevailing weather, and your equipment. Post-completion of the hike, we can make a descent to Balea Lake, the spot where we left our car, and indulge in a pleasant lunch. Prior to launching the tour, your mountain guide will provide you with all vital details allowing you to decide the trail’s difficulty level (easy or medium) and the time you’d like to allocate for hiking.
