Arequipa - Sangalle Oasis

Chivay - This incredible journey begins early in the morning. Guests will be picked up from their accommodation in Arequipa and head directly to the Colca Valley, a trip of approximately 3 hours. A brief stop will be made in Chivay for breakfast.

Mirador Cruz del Condor - The adventure continues to the Condor’s Cross (3,800 meters above sea level) to witness one of nature’s most breathtaking spectacles: the flight of the condors.

San Miguel - The journey proceeds to the Pampas of San Miguel (3,300 meters above sea level). From here, a hike to the canyon’s base begins, covering 4.6 miles over about 3 hours.

San Juan de Chuccho - Upon reaching San Juan de Chuccho, a well-deserved rest and lunch await.

Oasis Sangalle - The trek then continues through the villages of Cosñirhua and Malata for an additional 2.5 miles (2.5 hours). Arrival at Sangalle (2,225 meters), a stunning oasis, marks the end of the day. Here, guests can enjoy a swim in the pool and dinner in the evening.

Sangalle Oasis - Cabanaconde - Arequipa

Cabanaconde - At 5:00 AM, the hike resumes, ascending 2.5 miles up the canyon slope over approximately 3 hours, offering breathtaking sunrise views, until reaching Cabanaconde (3,230 meters).

Chivay - After breakfast, transportation will take guests to Chivay, with brief stops at the Antahuilque viewpoint, showcasing beautiful Andean terraces and the Colca Valley.

Maca - The tour continues to Maca, featuring a panoramic view of its colonial church.

Yanque - There will be an opportunity to visit the Yanque hot springs (optional*), known for their healing and relaxing properties.

Chivay - A delicious lunch (optional*) will be enjoyed in Chivay.

Vicuñas Pampa Cañahuas - On the return journey to Arequipa, there will be a chance to pass near the Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve, home to various camelids such as llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and guanacos. Upon arrival in Arequipa, guests will be dropped off two blocks from the Plaza de Armas.

Guests have the option to transfer to Puno at the end of the tour on day 2. In this case, departure from Chivay is at 1:00 p.m., arriving at Puno’s main square by 7:00 p.m.

• If you want to take the transfer to Puno on the last day, please select the correct option when booking. The regular bus will depart from Chivay at 1:00 p.m. and will drop you off at the main square of the city of Puno, arriving at 7:00 p.m. Upon arrival in Puno, you will need to make your own way to your hotel.
• If you book the tour with the transfer to Puno included, you can leave your big luggage in a safe place located in the town of Cabanaconde (starting point of the trek) on the first day, and pick it up before arriving to Chivay on the last day. It has an extra cost, paid at the moment, in cash, in local currency (PEN)
• You should be in good physical condition
• Due to the altitude, we recommend a good acclimatization before starting any activity
